It is not textured. It is just like every other standard lower feels/looks. Atleast, it's just like my Armalite, Superior Arms, and others that I have handled such as Bushmaster, etc. update 1st post. |

LOVE the new avatar, BB!
It doesn't do your lovely wife justice, of course, but it does a pretty good job of illustrating the disaparity there (i.e., how blessed you are ). ETA: Not that I can say anything, of course... I certainly "married up" as well! |

I'm at work you knucklehead! We're not permitted to check our home email here. |

I think that it was a good decision to NOT post the spread sheet. Glad to hear that the order has been placed. Thanks.
What are you talking about, those are 223's and before Jjoinson post Im causing trouble, I already know |
It is cool that our lowers are ordered, and it probably was a good idea to NOT show the sheet if some people are putting personal info on their lowers.
I can see you doing that too |
I had all of that PLUS my mothers maiden name also |
I'm awaiting reply on the order submission, I'll try to find out something more concrete. |

lol, patience. Sooner than later. Not a static date, per se, but I should have a more exact date to tell you in a short time, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm ready to start getting parts together for the arrivals. |

I am allready doing that. This is going to be my first ar and man there is so much stuff to choose from If anybody has any advice on things NOT to buy please let me know |
Now there is a loaded “question” if I ever saw one, “what NOT to buy”. Don’t buy junk parts. Don’t but the cheapest parts you can find. Buy the best parts you can possible afford. The phrase “You get what you pay for” could never be truer than in the world of gun parts. If you buy cheap parts your likely to end up with a gun that is not reliable, breaks often and is less than fun to own and shoot. On the other hand, if you spend just a little bit more, get good quality parts, they will fit properly, work properly and usually last a long time under harsh conditions. Since this is your first AR I’ll give you the same advise that I give all first time AR buyers. This is the same advise that most first time AR buyers completely ignore as well. Build a simple basic gun. Resist the temptation to go out and get all the cool guy gear right off. Keep it simple and basic. Go out and shoot the gun. A Lot. Learn how the basic gun works. Learn what it is exactly that you want and expect out of the gun. Then go see a honest, knowledgeable dealer with training and or experience in what it is that you want to do with the gun. NOTE: The “Training and or experience” is not something that you find with most people selling guns and gun parts. You want a dealer more interested in helping you get to your goal than he is in making his bottom line for the day better, (this is also something that is not all that easy to find!) They will be able to help you decide what parts and accessories to get that will modify you tool (the gun) to better assist you in your mission. (Even if your mission is nothing more than having fun, plinking or whatever, you want the entire system to work properly and efficiently….. right?) What you do not want is a bunch of stuff that looks cool but gets in the way of what your really trying to do, or worse yet, just does not work as advertised/expected. At the end of the day, those parts no longer look cool. They just look useless and expensive and will eventually end up living in a box in the back of a closet. That is just what you need, a bunch of expensive crap in a box in the closet. What you do want is quality parts, designed to make your tool more functional. Now that looks cool. When the operator and the gun function as one. When the OP knows the gun, what it will do and how to make it do it. That looks cool. The right gear “for you” and “your mission assignment” may very well differ from the gear I want/need for my mission assignment for that particular weapon. The point is that the only way YOU are going to know what is the right gear for you is to shoot and learn the gun and figure out what it is you want the gun to do for you. Then carefully select the specific items that will help you do it. That said, I can tell you that there are a few items you can almost never go wrong with. High quality magazines (Do not buy the “USA” brand. Do not buy any magazine with more than 30 round capacity, except for the Beta mag if you really feel the need for 100 rounds. The 40 round mags are junk.) A good sling. We sell the Specter 3 point sling that will function perfectly as a “regular sling” or as advanced as you care to get with a sling. A quality flashlight, rated for weapons mounting. This is almost a universal need on a long gun of this type, the exception being for those guys buying the rifle version and intending to use it for long distance hunting. In that case a weapon mounted light is likely to be of marginal use. But for most any other use the (quality, shock isolated) light is all but indispensable. So, there you have it. A few spare magazines, (4 or 5 total should be plenty to get you started) A good sling A good shock isolated flashlight (with proper mounting) Later on you can add optics, rails, fancy grips and stocks and all the other go fast, cool guy gear stuff, once you know which of it will actually make YOU look cool (because it works, FOR YOU and your particular mission requirements). And believe me, when it comes to that cool gear, Anvil Arms has a great selection of it! Here is a link to read more about the flashlight option: Flashlight Info Of course I have only been doing this a few weeks, I’m not really all that smart and don’t really know what I’m talking about so I must say, “Your mileage may vary” . Best of luck, Jon K. - Anvil Arms (Edited to add the "later on" paragraph and to correct a couple typo's)-JK. |

damn!
brute honesty and truth for a dealer. if hell gonna freeze over tomorrow? i agree with everything jon posted above. this is also the reason my LPK and possibly my upper will be coming from him as well for these guns. the few email dealings i have had with anvil really gives me the impression that only do they care about us, they will be honest folks to deal with. |
We need a LPK group buy! I'm also willing to host a build party at my house. Im located in Pelham.
sounds like fun!! i have an armorers kit i can bring for more tools if needed |

I actually made some inquiries (after asking Staff first, of course) and found out that a LPK GB probably isn't something that will happen. From what I was told (multiple sources, both manufacturers & dealers), the manufacturers won't sponsor one because it would undercut their own dealers (understandable) and the dealers have such a slim margin on them that they really can't offer enough of a discount to make a GB worth it in the long run (equally understandable). Now, if Jon (since he did the lowers for us) could offer just a little discount on LPKs for those of us who ordered lowers (or even just free shipping if ordered in time to be included with the lower shipments), then I am quite sure that many (most?) of us would jump at it. (HINT, HINT! ) |
i can not approve or condone another group buy until this is complete. staff is cracking down on such things..... that said I'M IN |
I wasn't suggesting another GB, just maybe a discount code/offer for participants of this GB. (IOW, SHHHHHH! ) |

That is the only way I know to be. I just don't feel right selling stuff just to turn a profit. That's to bad too becuase I loose some sales and sometimes don't sell as much "upsell" stuff as I otherwise could. But in the long run, I sleep better at night knowing I did not take advantage of some guy just because I knew I could make a easy buck and knew that he did not know any better. I think my clients appreciate it. I guess the fact that most of them keep coming back would indicate that anyway. But I do appreciate the knd words! (Keep them coming!!) JK. |

I'll see what I can do about some kind of "incentive" plan for LPK's. However, as already pointed out, that is one component that there is not allot of room to work with. Especially in our kits. We pay more for some of the more important components of the kit so that you get a better, higher quality product. If we were selling our higher quality kit for the prices that some people are selling the lower quality kits for ($60-80) we would have a lot more room to work.
Our kits are already only $55, (but should be more like the $80 range based on the quality of components). Combine that low price with the higher quality component cost and what you get is a kit that we sell more as a client service than as much of a money maker. If any of you guys live close to each other some money can be saved by combining orders to save on shipping. Putting the kits in with the lowers can not happen. Your various FFL dealers are already dong transfers for minimum cost. Expecting them to also inventory and track who gets what kit is not really fair to them. JK. |
Completely understood. And thanks again for all your work on this project!!! |
Yea I kinda left that open, but you know what I mean. Don't buy this (brand a) because it was crap, that kind of thing. Thanks for the tip on the mags. I bought a couple of C Products at one of the gun shops BEFORE I looked here. I will not do that again . This is not going to be a "see how cheap I can get by" builds. I figure $1500 max should get me a bad ass, reliable gun that I can shoot at the range and use at home also. With all the stuff to choose from any advice will not be overlooked.
cproducts had a bad run but took care of everyone with problems. i have 40 or so of their mags and all have been fine. the only real issue now is they use fewer spot welds than gi IIRC. if i need battlefield grade mags i'll pick them up off the ground.

For $1,500 I can equip you with the top of the line free floated carbine with a sling, proper flashlight, front and rear flip sights AND an EOTech sight. All you would need is $100 more for the rail covers and upgrade to the better model of EOtech and a few $$ for shipping. That would give you a completly first class, no short cuts, PROFESSIONAL GRADE, completly equiped carbine. About the only reasonble thing left that you would even want to consider adding might be a vertical forward grip ($25-75) but I would wait for that and see if you think you need one. -- And a few magazines. Magazines are $20 each, We frequently have them on sale for $15. When you buy a rifle/carbine from us you can buy up to 5 for $10 each. Jon K. |
