That is an impressive monument. I like pictures of the murals leading up to it, they were really detailed.

This is the U-2ski,the Beriev S-13. They figured "if we can shoot down U-2s,they can shoot down our copies" and scrapped the program before doing anything with them.

I was looking at buying or building an RC of that.  The RC version had reports of being a notorious tip staller though.    I wanred one on skis for winter rc flying.

Deformed fetus. Peter the Great expanded a lot of scientific research on that sort of thing to help dispell the ideas of curses and what not, part of that was researching this sort of thing. There's a whole section in a museum called the Kuntzkamera.

https://onedio.co/content/mariya-oktyabrskaya-the-woman-who-bought-a-tank-for-her-revenge-from-nazis-13118
Mariya Oktyabrskaya, born on August 16, 1905, was one of the first female tank drivers to receive the title of Soviet Union Hero. Maria, a child with 9 more siblings, married a Soviet officer in 1925. The moment the news of the murder of her husband by the Nazi Army was heard, Mariya decided to sell everything she owned and buy a tank for the sake of revenge on the Nazis.

The T-72 was a beast for a long time and provided the chassis for a large amount of their equipment.

I remember reading somewhere that it would have been very problematic in Europe during the cold war.

Big problem for the Royal Ordnance L7 105mm tank generation, not much after the 120mm Rheinmetall smoothbore was introduced.

Oh they are turds. Nuclear powerered with conventional boilers too since the reactors are so shitty and weak.

Wanna go over 20kts? Fire up the dino burners and roll some coal! Cause the reactors alone can't get you there.
