I really need to give in to the urge and just get one, even though my last firearm purchase last month was a CZ 527 in x39 |

If the Ruger gods are listening, a RAR in .308 provided with Nodak Iron sights and a scout scope mount on the barrel would likely sell itself...

Can anyone with a RAR in 450 Bushmaster confirm the weight? Ruger's website lists it as 5.5lbs and I've seen it listed at 6.2 and 7.5lbs.
I wasn't shopping for a new rifle, let alone a new caliber, but Arfcom has a way of costing me money |

See if I didn't have any specs I'd have guessed the 77 was more than a bit heavier. They have always been a little chunky which isn't noticed on bigger rifle calibers but for a compact gun it's a different story. I wish they made an American 357 and 44 that wasn't quite as spendy as the 77. |

.450 Bushmaster with billet cocking piece, billet bolt shroud, and longer bolt handle......measured 3.5 lb trigger pull before, 2.5-2.25 after.

View Quote I've not touched the trigger at all, I measured it with my Wheeler trigger pull scale before and after.....about 5-6 times each for an average, very consistent trigger pull either way. next project will probably be stiffening up the stock with JB weld epoxy. btw..the primary Arms red dot was a gift from my son, so it's on my rifle. |

A LGS is supposed to get a couple in that fit what I'm looking for. An alternative I'm giving a little consideration to is a short-barreled bolt action AR upper instead. |

This is getting tempting. I might need a short-action RAR in a Magpul Hunter stock. Left-handed, of course. That would be a very handy rifle with a 2-7x, 2-10x, or similar.

I picked up one in 7.62x39 last year. I mentioned or started a thread about how i had to wear a mask and i was buying a gun(clown world). And i first went to cabelas but it was end of day and they wouldnt sell it to me because they locked it up in the back for the end of day. I think they were a half hour from closing. Told me to come back tomorrow. I told them to piss off and i would buy it elsewhere. Went to Sportsmans warehouse and they sold it to me and price matched cabelas. Now they are owned by the same company
I have not been that impressed with the gun to date. I do need more time with it though. The bolt was so sticky it was almost unusable and i spent hours sanding it down with 1000 grit sand paper to make it usable. Something i should not have to do on a new gun. I bought one when i noticed they were importing sub sonic 7.62x39 but now thats gone too |

Great rifle/ranch gun for the money with an impressive amount of options. No reason to not own one in 5.56. Cheap, reliable, accurate enough.

That is great news and i had not heard that.
And as far as sub sonics go i have only tried the brown bear subs. Im sure that privi would be better as from my experience they dont make crap. My experience with the russian sub sonics is half went super sonic. One made a whistle sound for some reason. When i was first shooting the rifle there was a guy with his kids shooting their first AR. He made some inquires about my suppressor so i let him and his kids have the first shots with sub sonics. Bolt was sticky enough the kids needed help to reload. They were all smiles though. |

The Lil John and Johnny for-end have a swiss arca rail that is also nice to have. |

Ok yes it's the Indian Creek Design Sportsman's Anti-Cant Shroud, MoFo Chassis AR style mag, a Johnny forend, and a HERO - AR Handguard Adapter. Then the MI blast can, RRS ARCA plate, Aero 9" Quantum handguard, BCMGUNFIGHTER Grip Mod 0, MDT CCS stock, Ergo grip panels, Hoptic USA 556 quiver mlok, Alpine Series M-Lok Paddle Board Extension, old surefire 6p with Malkoff Devices upgrade in a Odin works mlok mount topped with a TRUGLO TRU-Brite 30 Series 1-6 X 24mm.
It gives me a bit of options with the ability to change forends via changing one bolt and it's awesome. |
