I think you may be right.  They probably are intent to supply tubes of various lengths and this it the end cap for them all

I can't see any super compelling reason I'd want to buy one as yet, but it'll help keep the other domestic manufacturers from getting complacent.

If it's available in a Shockwave style (14") that functions with mini shells, the brick of a barrel clamp is redesigned and it's cheaper than the Mossberg 590S Shockwave then I'm interested, otherwise I'm not looking for another pump shotgun.

I have something similar on mine.  One side of it has a QD sling swivel attach point, the other side holds a flashlight mount.  Then, overall, the thing has to support the thin-walled extended magazine tube.

Shotgun looks awesome, and I think makes a ton of sense for them.

PSA if you are listening, please make Bulk #1 16 pellet Buckshot for the PSA Ammo / AAC line. Its the ideal SD shotgun load, and theres really none on the market available in quantity.

AAC #1 Buck would be a perfect pairing with the PSA 570.

...

Less important, but I think would be really great for people in humid climates or on boats, would be to have the 570 Nitrided as opposed to Parkerized. This would be much more corrosion resistant, as well as much more wear resistant, and would also further differentiate the 570 from the parkerized competition.

I was an 870 guy til the bankruptcy, now I'm an 88/500/590/835 guy.  Given the Mossberg mag tubes unscrew & you can convert a lowly bog stock 88 to a 588 w/ a bayonet lug, what exactly are we getting out of the 570?

Yep, a basic Mossberg 88 Security (7+1) is $235 with free shipping from Bud's (just an example) and will do most everything most people wanting a "defensive" shotgun want or need.  Despite being a "budget" shotgun they just keep right on working.  The only things I'd add would be a plain XS sight on the front, a side saddle of your choice, a sling and a light and you're going to have to add those to any gun you buy.

So given that it's still a prototype with 3D printed parts... 2 years till it hits the market at best?

3 - 4 years before they actually produce enough that you don't have to camp out on their website to actually get one with the parts you want?

Most mossberg upgrade parts are sold out everywhere.

870 furniture?  That doesn't seem worth the squeeze.

When it comes to pump shotguns, I'm all 870 here, but I'm open to Mossberg parts. I agree about 870 barrels though.

Everyone asking about wood stocks, if it has Magpul SGA furniture, then there is a wood stock that fits it.

That is cool and yes, $1000+ for a pump HD gun is quite high,

Definitely would be great to have more Nitride shotgun options.

May be other reasons but I'm going with "it's cheap".

Almost every pump action shotgun on the US market that I can think of has the barrel locked into the receiver by an interface with the magazine tube.  That doesn't sound sketchy, it sounds normal.

Yeah #1 is super limited availability. Just 5 packs from Winchester, Federal, and Rem, which are frequently out of stock.

We need a 250rd case, buy cheap stack deep, 'arm the neighborhood with Maverick 88's and 570's' option for #1 Buck

Looks interesting. I'll buy one when they come out if the price is right, and it functions well. I'll watch other people test them out, and get some long term testing on it. I'll give it a year or two before I buy.

Let me ask, because my eyes are bad. Is that the Go Boom, No Go Boom switch on the right rear of the receiver ?  If so, that's good. I like that way better than the 870 location. The last 870 I had, I put a Big Head safety on it, because I had trouble with the stock 870 safety. The Mossberg 500 safety I like a lot better. It's just almost natural to reach your thumb up and flip it off.

The location for this one, if it is the safety, seems perfect, just put your finger on it and push it or pull it depending on what you want to do.

I'd put a tritium blade on the front and a ghost ring on the back, a light, and a side saddle, and a sling.
