Monthly update?

Ran my first race yesterday. 1/2 marathon trail run through loud thunder forest preserve. LT 50.  Due to heavy spring rainfall the course was washed out and altered Thursday night.  

I placed 5th in my age group and 11th overall out of 92.

This was supposed to be my 3rd 16mi run per my training program.  We went out to lunch, had some pizza and a couple beers. Got home and get guilty for not meeting my training quota, and ran 7.5 mi more.  

Week 16 starts today!  Pretty pumped for my marathon, feeing sore today but also well prepared for marathon.

NICE!  3rd place age group is always worth being proud of.

Thank you for your help along the way. I frequently popped back on this thread to re read what you and a few others recommended.

I will say I could only slow down to that “easy pace” very seldomly.  Now my toughest choice is my next race lol!  I’m thinking I’m gonna try a 50k this fall.
