I want to install a different firmware on some of cams to test id it is possible to use a different firmware that would allow me to save video to a nas share instead of the cloud/local micro sd card.  If I happen to brick one of them I don't really care since they are so cheap.  Any Nerds here know if this is possible?

It should be possible because you can update the firmware or roll back to a prior version via microSD card.

Would I need to ssh into the camera or just load the firmware on the camera and go from there?

Can you use the Wyze alt firmware that opens RTSP?

Docker Wyze Bridge.

This is how I pull the streams from the V3 cameras into Home Assistant.  I keep hoping support for the streams from the Floodlight Pro will be added soon.

I have the RTSP firmware flashed to both my Wyze v3 cams and they're running in Blue Iris. I don't ever turn the Wyze app on unless I need to make a change, it's on an old phone that stays off unless I need one  of the camera apps.
