I would think so. After all, they're your parts, not the gun smiths.

They sent me no parts back and I even requested it via email. I especially wanted the hammer spring back in case I got light primer hits

Yeah, that's fucked up. Everything comes back to the owner unless specifically stated beforehand and/or parts are completely destroyed in the process. Even considering that last part, I've had bits that were cut off barrels or basically destroyed while depopulating a parts kit come back with the gun

They should absolutely send you your parts back. Maybe they just forgot to put them in the box.

Yes. No question there.
I've had guns sent in for warranty repair come back with aftermarket parts missing (Glock) with out explanation.

They belong to the owner, not the Smith.

I sent away my pump gun to cut the barrel from 30" to 26" and they sent the 4" section back with the shotgun when job was completed

Yep, it's scummy when they keep the old parts.

Auto repair shops are supposed to offer you the bad parts they replaced. You have right of refusal.
Should be the same with gunsmiths.

The pistol is sweet. The new trigger works really nicely. Just some small details I'm not happy about

I'm surprised a DWX needs trigger work.

It doesn't! But now the trigger is even nicer - lowered the trigger weight by about 1/3rd if not a little more and made the reset shorter
