I've been eating out of the pantry so much for the past 6 months that I was absolutely floored that 6 bags of groceries was $150 last weekend. I knew things were bad but Jesus Christ.

Whatever works. I had questionable leftover red beans and rice with andouille sausage from last Sunday. So far so good.

Yeah, I know.

I have to feed a family, and we try to eat fresh and healthy, so I buy fresh produce and meats a couple times a week.  It's ridiculous. A buck fiddy for a white onion. Two bucks for a bell pepper. $6/lb for trash meat at the discount supermarket.

I supplement the meals with inexpensive sides of things like rice, beans, and potatoes and it's still hard to keep the food costs reasonable.

I'd eat that.  Particularly after several beers.
