Called the 1-800-ATF-GUNS hotline.
Left all the pertinent information. What they choose to do with it, I dunno. I will try to speak to a live agent tomorrow. CRC |
Apparently in preparing an article they illegally bought a firearm in another state. That's just what I read here. I'm not convinced the ATF will do anything. |

I'm convinced the ATF will do nothing. |

Who, what, where and all the info on the show and transcript from the 17th.
I don't care what the ATF does, I just want CNN to knock off their anti gun crap! |
Maybe ATF will get it right this time and burn the CNN building down
I'm sure the public servants of the ATF will live up to all our expectations and due not a damn thing.
Uh oh...
prepare to take it from both barrels!!! Someone who had the nerve to actually drop a dime to the Feds??? Say it ain't so!!! Isn't this a CoC violation or something??? |
Well, they're busy, you know. They due what they can due, when they can due it. |
I have no idea what the BATFE will do until I speak to an actual agent or someone else does.
And really I don't care. I'm just a good citizen snitch. |
CRC: Thank you at least reporting them, and you will be on record.
But like any other government agency, the BATF&E doesn't want the ire of the whole news media on them. The CNN story should be investigated at least. But personally, I think the BATF&E would rather go up against a hapless gunowner who violate one of their arbitrary and capricious rulings, rather than go up against an entity that can fight back. The samething happend in So. Peoples' Republik of Kali-fornia. The L.A.Times(aka Pravda West) illegallly bought a gun to prove a point at the Great Western Gun Show Pomona, Calif., even though the reporter bought the gun illegally and turned it over to the LAPD there is no provision for such a transfer, the LE did nothing to prosecute the illegal transfer. Well, we will just have to sit back and see what happens next. |
That would be great. |

Remember when Mrs. Brady said she did a "straw-purchase" for her son's rifle....nothing happened.
Remember when John Kerry said he kept an assault-rilfe in Boston city limits, where its illegal...nothing happened. They are only there to harass those who cannot defend themselves. Then they go out of their way to find or create evidence. |
Not a Team Member. Open Season. |
The 1-800 number is anonymous.
Sarah Brady did not break the law in that case. |
While technically correct, that does not apply here |
Hopefully in Prison. |
If you really want to cause trouble, contact Fox Cable News and tip them off that CNN reporters illegally purchased a firearm for a news story!
excellent idea |
Yeah Baby! The ATF won't do shit unless leverage is exerted. |
Way too cool idea, go their competitors! I would like to see those guys get charged with a felony. |

Anyone have a link to the story? If enough people call the ATF and Fox they will probably take notice, I need the details before I call though. I doubt they will procecute but we can always hope.

Good for you!
Thanks for being an upright citizen. I hope the feds really go after those asshats. |
