When is the governor up for re-election?

I'll give Wisconsin credit they have pushed this issue hard year after year.  As soon as you guys get a decent governor you'll get your law passed for sure.

Now work to get doyle out of office while keeping pro-gun power in the house and senate and then fuck the democrats right in the ass by passing an even more gun friendly concealed carry law. (dream = vermont style)

That is bad news. I feel for you all living in Wisconsin. Of course that is one of the reasons I moved out of that damn state.

I never liked doyle when he was DA in dane county, or atty gen. I really felt bad for you guys when he was elected governor. The problem is madison and milwaukee are such strong democratic voting blocks and they tend to run the show.

Of course, Lee Dreyfus, Tommy Thompson, and Scott McCallum were all Republicans and concealed carry couldn't get passed then either. IIRC, Tommy did not want concealed carry anyway. McCallum only served out the term vacated by Tommy but lost to Doyle.

Republicans never held the legislature then like they do now.

Oh, there was a 3 month period when they (stupidly) put lyn adelman, uber liberal, on the federal bench FOR LIFE in order to get his seat...which was promptly lost.

When doyle was elected, republicans took control of the legislature. In 2004, they expanded control.

My fear is that they've started acting like liberals for the most part - becomming a part of big government to help big campaign contributors. That can turn off voters and cost the republicans their new found power.
