How much ya got? He's not a musician, but if you gave him one to take measurements off of, he could build it. |
There's at least 500 hours into each; plus all the time spent thinking of how to do it. He makes jigs to make parts; like the wheels involved this really cool jig such that all the grooves are even and equal. |
They look great!
Now buy him a nice mill for fathers day and a box of 80% receivers and get back to us in a few months! |
He'll be happy with the pictures, but he'd kill me if I dropped one while taking them down to take the pictures.
They're like his four other children. |

From the looks of it that man looses more patients every time he gets a hair cut than I have in my entire body. Those things are great.

Wait, I don't see a Sonic bag anywhere though.
you got these pics off google images didn't you? |
I keep telling him to make a 1911 out of wood. How cool would that be? Doesn't have to function, or even have the slide move. Just a 1911 out of wood would be sweet. |
Very funny No, you won't find these pics anywhere put my photobucket account. |
Those are amazing. And to think you were complaining about him leaving a wrapper from a fast food joint in your precious vehicle.
Wow! He's a doctor too? |
that was resolved. I was an ass, he said he was sorry, and i said i was sorry too. live and learn |
he actually doesn't have much patience. When he would screw up, he'd toss what he had and start over again. let's just say you stayed the hell away from the garage if something had to be thrown away. |
Does he sell these at the gun shows? I think I've seen his work before.
Nope, never have been for sale. This are 100% made from scratch, they aren't kits. |
nah, he doesn't have any elves in his workshop either. |
Wooden toys are just too cool. Although my grandfather was never so elaborate, I still have a wood frog puzzle he made me after 25 years. |

OMG!! You're dad is so talented!! He does have a special gift!! My goodness he's got everything down to the last minute intricate detail perfect!! I think it so cool that some men can do woodwork!! Of course I just love the beauty of wood anyway!!
Bet that's something you'll hold onto forever. |
yea, a lot of the stuff in our house he has made; but he doesn't do it for other people or for money. He has built a few things for people as gifts; but he doesn't do it for a living or anything. |
I don't get it, but no he can barely use a computer. |
It was a feeble attempt at humor. The Sarge was/is a a Californian who fancies himself as a great woodworker. He's the guy with the |

Okay, I knew there was something, but I didn't know who sgtAR15 was. |

i always wanted to try to build one of those.
i want to do a humvee but never get around to do it. |
You should have him make AK furniture sets and sell them on the EE
Nice work. I like the little control levers.
Reminds me of my thread about my dad's woodworking. Look at page 2 on my thread for more pics. |
That's amazing. He doesn't have to sell them to make money, with stuff like that you could set it up with a small scene and turn the pictures into a calender
+1 I have seen some real craftsmenship in my days... those are very good too! I like the details especially with the different wood grains used. Tell him I said Great Job! Do you think he could make me a Porsche 911 Turbo, 1/8 scale to match my die-cast sized collection? Same scale as you construction equipment. |
Tell him awesome work! Unbeliveable detail!
Are those floors made from palm? Whit |

Mxpatriot51,
There have been many home projects that have impressed me here at ARFCOM, but the items your father made are spectacular! I've built a few pieces of furniture myself over the years, but man, your father is light years ahead of me. |
That is incredible. It would be nice to have a 1911 or AR made out of wood. It'd be really cool if the action worked.
Thanks for sharing the pics. Maybe a glock, too. The ultimate irony. Plastic-fantastic pistol made of wood. |
I keep telling him to make a set of 1911 grips, but he's never done checkering like that before. |
There is no doubt that your dad is Very talented, but I'd have a quick look at This Page first, before you say how original the toys are.
I'm not trying to be critical, I just thought I'd seen those toys before...somewhere. Tall Shadow |
