Update 7/19/08:
The thread about the guy finding a scorpion in his house got me thinking about getting a UV light. I looked around and found most UV flashlights to be weak and diffuse. Then I found this one on the trusty DX site:

I got it in yesterday and ran around the yard with it last night and it rocks! Fit and finish is excellent, uses P60 modules, and the UV LED is really powerful. Mine came with a belt clip. I didn't see any scorpions but had no trouble spotting bits of paper in the yard from 50 feet away. Should be great for hunters looking to track blood or other people looking for bodily fluids For less than $18 bucks delivered, it's a steal.


ETA: This thing is powerful, make sure you use UV blocking eye protection.

Well I was looking to order some PMAGs but the problem was nobody had the kind my buddy and I wanted in stock (black windowed PMAGs). The few places that did have them were asking for almost $18 each plus shipping.

200mW burning laser for $53.80! I got one of these things, they absolutely rock. Used to be burning lasers were +$200 or you had to make one yourself from a DVD burner. I didn't want to hassle with it. Once focused, you can burn a match or plastic from across the room. It's even been used in a draw down. A honey bee committed a home invasion at my residence, he's in the big hive in the sky now. Make sure you get some red laser eye protection. Keep in mind Deal Extreme takes forever to ship, but that's why they are so cheap. Worth the wait.

Yeah, in a futureweapons episode, they showed a high power diode laser like this one that was defocused to spread over a BG's face and blind him. Baldy got dazed a bit. This laser is focus-able so it would be perfect for it, if you were to use it that way. (Don't sue me if this backfires on you though, you're on your own!)

I bought one of these off of egay (had no choice). Do a search for "CREE R2" and you will see this. It's a Solarforce flashlight using the current best of the best LED, the CREE R2. That means it will put out close to 300 lumens. Comes with the ARMS knockoff mount (if you got no qualms), stuff in the pic, plus Lithium Ion batteries (good stuff) batts and charger for ~$65. Racking a shotgun doesn't have anything on this light, shine it on the bad guy and your adversary is now ray charles.

so, about the laser. What do I need to get, to burn through tire rubber in about 30 sec ?

This thread will be the cause of a law making it illegal to store a laser without a trigger lock.  

Previous laser threads have talked about a lot of these China lasers not having an IR filter, and therefore being detrimental to vision even just looking at the reflection of the beam on a wall.

Reviews look good and people seem to be not blind.
