I've been following the report on these since SHOT last year. Looks like they will be  reality. Gordon Miller has an ad post on Sturm for pre-orders. Only $500. If the quality it up to German standards, it should be a hell of a plinker. My wife wasn't pleased that I picked up my new 9mm AR on Friday and I told her I need a new gun already.

I'm not familiar with who Gordon Miller is.  Has anyone done business with him and did you have a good experience going through him?  I'd like to get one of these rifles and was just wondering if he is a reputable dealer.

Gordon along with Adam Webber are tops in the HK parts world.  You won't find anyone better.  I've made several purchases from him with no issues.  I'm sure others will chime in -

I am looking forward to this one Heread as posted on sturmgewehr.com:

This is the long awaited German Sports Gun 22 LR cal. ****SEE COPY OF GERMAN SPORTS GUN MANUAL AT BOTTOM OF PAGE

These guns are inbound and will be here in time for you to have in your hands before Xmas.

They come with a 24 round 22LR mag with a a2 stock, a full length barrel just like a HK 94 but with a fake suppressor screwed over the barrel. Have a wide 94 forearm and a2 stock. We will have these in hand in 2/3 week and are PRE-SELLING them for 499.00 plus 11.00 SH and 2% for CC use.

At this time there are extra mags for purchase with the gun, I dont know pricing yet on the mags future assx will include different forearms, mag clamps, a3 stocks etc...

You should have them in your hands by Xmas we will take full payment and ship in the order we are paid.

This were tested by ATF extensively for the pass 8 months they pass with flying colors. No malfunctions work great.

This 22cal LR closely replicates a HK 94 so the look and finish will be very close to the, as well as all the specifications

WE NEED FULL PAYMENT ALONG WITH FFL ON THESE TO HOLD ONE FOR YOU. You can fax is your FFL along with who the gun is for and CC info if you like to 864-877-8811 or call 864-590-8570. We accept MO or checks or CC add 2%

AGAIN IT WOULD BE BETTER TO FAX YOUR FFL AND CC INFO ALL AT THE SAME TIME IF NOT FAX YOUR CC INFO WITH ALL INFO CARD NUMBER EXP DATE, ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER AND WHO YOUR FFL DEALER IS SO WE CAN MATCH THEM UP.

Not to be delve in minutiae but the ad talks about a 24 round mag but the GSG-5 Brochure says the max is 22 rounds.

Regardless - really looking forward to seeing it available here!

Anyone know what the non pre-sell price is going to be? I'd like to buy one...but I'd also like a few guinea pigs to try em out first.

Tell you what, and Outback II is going to make this a real fun toy.

Anyone know how the fake can is attached? Is the barrel full length witht the can around it or what? Curious about how much would be involved to have it converted to a registered SBR.

Just curious - getting a tally of those who ordered.  Local or through the ad?  If local, how much - any markup from the ad?

If anyone gets theirs in, can you please post please?

Much thanks.

Okay, so has anyone actually, honestly, seriously, truly, scout's honor held one of these things?  I'm interested, but I would really like to get a first hand report.  I was one of the first to get a Walther P22 and didn't wait to hear what others were saying about it.  I only just recently got that thing to reliably fire a whole magazine.

I was at a gun show last weekend and I asked several guys if they were going to be stocking these.  My question was the first they'd heard of them.  One of them was the largest dealer around and two others were smaller outfits that specialized in evil black guns of all types.  Apparently German Sport Guns needs a better advertising firm.

Uh, not yet.  After I get mine, they can advertise all they want.  The line is long enough already.

Anymore information on these? I have found a number of websites stating that they are getting them soon, but no-one seems to know an exact date. I am guessing that no one here has one of these yet?

I want someone to get one, try it out, and give it a damn range report before I do the insane and drop half a grand on a rimfire rifle that looks like an HK just because I see it at the Fun Show one weekend and snag it on an impulse buy.

One thing that worries me is that though they claim the rifle will take MP5/HK94 parts is that the magazines will be astronomical in price and very hard to come by. I'd might purchase the rifle based on a few good reviews, but I damn sure would not buy it if a .22 mag was $80.00 a pop and impossible to find.
Link Posted: 12/21/2007 2:10:07 PM EDT

The rifles are not in country yet so there are no reviews of the guns here in the states. The parts issue my be a non-issue. Even if it only takes GSG make accessories. I can't see them being priced higher than thier real H&K counterparts. Mags? Good question. I can't find a decent curved MP5 mag for less than $50. Hopefully the GSG mags will be less. With the companys airsoft backround, I'm hopeing they can produce the parts for just a little more than what I'm seeing airsoft parts go for. This is a .22 after all.

Has anyone found out for sure when these guns are going to be in-country?  I hate to speculate on prices if they aren't even here yet 'cause it hasn't been unheard of that dealers jack prices if something is in short supply.  Thanks, Rick

I had heard that the guns were in country, but were waiting on some approval at customs.  I heard it on the internet, so it must be true.

They are being advertised for $499 by several dealers (Atlantic Firearms being one of them).

[#45]
The price seems to be $499 everywhere I've seen online.

They are expected to pass customs sometime in Jan 2008 according to those who have them on order from the distributor.

I've already placed my order for one.

The 22 round magazines are approx. $35.00, not exactly cheap, but could be worse.

Here is where I've ordered mine from: www.wetzelarms.com/non%20nfa.htm

Also see here: www.sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/semi4sale.cgi?read=186084

Atlantic also lists them as well. The first and only model in the US will be the longer barreled one.  See Atlantic here:

Hello guys!
I got one of these new mp5 22lr's in my hands few weeks ago.
Impressions:
- Size and all major measures are MP5
Sights work like in original
- Mag catch button is weird and you need 4" long finger to loose the mag :)
- The gun is much lighter than real one and feels REALLY "plastic". When i pulled the trigger, i thought this really was a airsoft gun. Trigger pull and the "click" was really airsoft like (hard to explain this, but i hope you understand...)

Sorry to spoil your waiting, but i'd rather shoot my v22 and my coming ciener conversions. This mp5 is a toy.

This is my concern, that the newness will wear off and I'll go back to my AR, to which I've devoted a lot of time and money to making the trigger pull, optics, and ergonomics pretty refined.  I think one of these in a "k" size with folding stock and SBR'ed would be a nice backpack gun though.
