I might have to order a few of these.
Has the price changed at all? Thanks WIZZO |
Damn! I just ordered a bunch of the Gen 1's on Friday. head.gif
3 weeks ago.... Oh well, its only money |
Will these work with 6.8 SPC magazines or will the 6.8 SPC followers have a separate upgrade in the future?
If you ordered on Friday from us then most likely you will get the new ones. We have been backoudered on the followers for a few days. |
Nice, I was finally about to place my first order for these. I'll wait a few days.

I notice that on my D&H mags and on my Creative Products mags (and brownells which i believe are the same), the old style magpul followers are a little tight near the top of the mag.
Does this redesign address this issue? |
Had this issue with Bushy mags also. |
Damn, Magpul. YOu guys just don't stop do you?
I have a few mags to slap those in. Thanks for adding to my list... |
Yes the gen 2 changes should allow the follower to move freely through those mags without breaking in like the gen1 versions. |
No plans for any other color than the Burnt Orange for now. The color works very well. We did do a test run in "Glow in the Dark" that some people were asking for. |
I have some tight Magpul followers in the above magazines also and have been disappointed to upgrade to the "superior" Magpul follower and have it actually perform worse than the regular green follower. JR |
The gen 1 versions will generally break in with just a working of the follower up and down. This issue comes from the wide discrepcences between USGI mags. This should not be an issue with the gen 2 followers which are cut away in the area which caused us trouble. |

For what??? Reloading at a rave? |
Lol, I just bought 15mags from a dealer in the EE on Thursday with Gen1 followers. I hope I can get Gen2's up in there before they ship out!! |

I have 15 of the Gen 1 followers and the Gen 2s look like they address all of my issues with the G1. |
Oh, that's funny.
I seriously just installed my first generation followers LAST NIGHT!!! I found them for two bucks a peice on DPMS and needed something to get my order total above $25 for free shipping. http://www.dpmsinc.com/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=MA-SLF Oh well. I guess I know why they were on sale! Any reason people shouldn't install these older ones? I mean, when a gun part gets replaced with a newer version, the paranoid gun fanatic in me starts to worry. I think we have a name for this disease... - cm |
The old ones work fine.
If they are a bit tight, whittle a tiny little bit off of the legs and all will be well.. |
Now that sings! I love the color and look forward to installing them in my mags. Thanks, guys.
And here I am, still using my pink beta followers.. things do certainly fly at Magpul Industries...
I wish Magpul followers were standard issue. It would save lives.
I wish I would have seen this thread earlier. My parents bought me 7 new magazines with Ranger Plates and followers two days ago. I just noticed on the website that the new followers were out and came here to confirm. One of the very top threads was this one. Looks like tomorrow morning I'm going to be making a phone call. Gotta see which ones I'm getting. Looks like I should be getting the new ones, but if I'm not I'll try to for sure!
any idea when the brownells magpul followers will switch over to Gen2? The dealer price on those is the best deal I've ever found.
Oh great. I finally got all my mags converted now I have to buy three dozen new followers.

Taggage. I was curious about the the decision on color. Why not green or black? Not that it matters in the end as long as they work.
Music to their ears. |
Damnit, I'm not buying 200 of these things... I just finally got all my mags changed to the Gen1 follower !
tag.
Good to see Magpul is not content with what is. I always like to see a company continue to innovate. Also, a friend wants to know if these new followers will be completely replacing the older followers (he says he does not like the orange, I called him an idiot, but he wanted me to ask). |
I'm not trying to be a dork, but who's gunna see the followers? If the mag is empty, you will see it, but who cares, and if its loaded, all your gunna see are fun-sticks
What are friends for. WIZZO |
Really dont like the burnt orange, but Im not one to complain.
Red means you've got a problem. :-)
No more custom fitting. this is good news. |
If you have just emptied your magazine, you have drawn far more attention to yourself in this act that a two inch piece of orange ever could.
I told him to sign up for an account but he won't. Yet he expects me to ask for him. Jerk..... j/k I will get him posting here one day. |

aww i just got all my mags decked out with gen 1... then tore back apart once i realized it was sticking at the top... little fine work with a file and then back in again... 24 times... your not planning to change the ranger plates are you? so far i have 6 done up and planning to slowly deck out the rest with them.
Can anyone describe the exact filing you did to eliminate the sticking on the gen 1s?
