Red.  Brighter and red contrasts more with natural environment.  Amber can wash out a little more.

I like amber. It's brighter. Everyone's eyes are a little different, try before you buy.

That depends on who's eyes are looking through it, and the backgrounds you would most likely be shooting the most in.    

Try them both and then decide; Don't buy based on other's opinions here.   That's like asking, "What size pants do you wear?" and then buying the size that was the most popular answer.

I agree about the backgrounds especially.  Here in AZ, everything is brown, so the red stands out a lot better. In a greener environment, the amber might be a little better than it is here, but I think red gives you a lot more versatility.

Yeah, I heard about this technique last week when I asked about zeroing.  It tightened my groups quite a bit.
