30lpi. Anything less is too rough.

I prefer 25LPI. Work with my hands so thats probably why. I can barely feel 30 and 20's like holding on to a cheese grater. Wierd how 5 little lines makes the difference but hey its all subjective/relative anyway.

+1 I shoot both and have not noticed a difference.

25-30 both work fine.  20 seems too sharp for me.  I am not a wuss by any stretch, but I don't see the point in impaling my callusses to get a better grip if the finer bumps do the job just fine.

I picked 30, but actually prefer the feel of stippling.  Checkering looks better though.

20 LPI, or Golf Balls.

25 LPI for shooting, 30 for admiring, and serrations for carry.

I personally don't care for checkering so I didn't vote. I like vertical serrations and have them on all my 1911s and I also like the scallop/scale treatment that Chuck Rogers offers. But if I had to go with checkering then I'd go with 25LPI..

I've always done 20lpi,  here's a pic of one I did.

I Did My Kimber Compact in 25lpi,  it's getting refinished,  so I don't have a pics,  but I like the 25 too.

Checkering a front strap is alot of work.
