I just got the new Noveske 12.5 6.8 SPC upper, new Larue 12" rail and the new single battery AN-PVS-14 SB.  I think I've FINALLY found my holy grail for a light weight reach out and touch someone day/night shooter! I am VERY interested in this as well.  In regard to the report on other flash hiders. This link will get you to some published results thus far. www.silencertests.com/flash.htm What I haven’t seen of course is ANY official studies with actual NVD's.  Could we just assume just because the visible flash to the naked (unaided) eye might appear low, translates to no blooming, i.e. great for NV??  See below...

Indeed, I will be doing a NV FH study very soon, especially now with the KX3 compared with a Vortex with the 6.8. Thus far, what I am hearing is the KX3 is just a smudge under the Vortex in regard to flash with a .223.  I've been told no scientific studies have been done with the 6.8 ammo presently, so my NON-scientific studies should give me the blooming issues or lack thereof I'm looking for.  Presently with the Vortex on my 18" 6.8 SPC, I get minimal to no blooming at all with the following ammunition.

Remington Express 115gr OTM (Proprietary Powder)
Hornady 110 gr V-Max (Proprietary Powder) (Btw, a good link here, PoliceOne.com)
Personal Hand Loads,  110gr V-Max with 29.0 of H322 powder.

It should be noted here (if you knew this already sorry), several years ago when first looking at the Vortex with NVD's, I noticed an interesting phenomenon.  During slow fire, a shot every 3 seconds or so, I saw no apparent blooming effects at all.  In fact, with a naked unaided eye, no noticeable flash effects at all.  Now during rapid fire, through the NVD, I started to see what I thought was a blooming effect?  Being confused about this to say the least , I had a partner of mine shoot my weapon while I stood next to the rifle 10 feet away or so and watched through a PVS-14. Guess what? I saw NO blooming or flash to speak of??  I was now more confused...I started researching this with the likes of Smith Enterprises and others flash hider folks, I found out that what I was actually seeing was not a flash effect, but actually unburned powder fogging up the NV image!  Actually being behind and a very short distance away from the fog of powder was obstructing my view through the NOD.  Another reason why fog and rain don't mix with NV!  

As for the OPS brake I do not have experience with this piece, but I am going to be getting one to take a peek as well.  Hope this helps.

Hi ya...The biggest thing I like is the hand select tube option. In the past, you got what you got from ITT which was not bad at all.  At least now, if I want a sig2noise of 27 or higher, or a certain photo response, I can get it.  I also REALLY like the teathered battery cap as well with no worries of dropping and breaking the dual batt. caps.  Over, it fits well in my hand and on my head with the lighter weight. Though not much of a weight savings over the dual, everything helps.
