Local shop I had used previously is now passing on barrel chopping, so looking for an alternate. I left a message with Classic Precision, but no reply, so maybe he's also not interested I'm doing it. I've got all the stamped F1 paperwork together, just need a shop, or else I'll be buying some tools.

Why don’t you just mail it to Class 3 Machining? He does excellent work and quick turnaround.

I guess that's an option. But is there no gunsmith in this state who can do the job?

Don't know him, haven't used him, not sure where he is other than Western WA, but seen his work on my FB feed:

I’m not sure who does that type of work, but I know first hand what Class 3 can do. Excellent work and he’s got lots of pics on his website.
