A proper MIL-SPEC lower receiver's dimensions can vary over .005" or more from one receiver to the next. This is fine for a military rifle, but these tolerance errors can stack up, impacting parts compatibility, fit, and function, especially when using aftermarket components. By comparison, the Cornerstone lower receiver is machined  to exceptionally tight +/- 0.001" tolerances, allowing for incredible consistency.
