| exactly. I love my Arsenals, but at the 1k and below price point. They're "new" or "just found in the warehouse" items are waaaayyyyy overpriced. Unless it's something really super cool and rare, I probably won't even think about it. I have other priorities right now anyway. |

If it's a SAM, it's Bulgarian milled. They didn't say "SAM7" series, so I have a feeling it might be something in 5.56x45

would it take two years to design/make a folding stock milled rifle,seems kind of long?
Im still thinking 300blkout , 9mm or as some have said a 5.55 rifle that takes AR mags. either way since a milled SAM is $1300 this new rifle will probably be in the $1500 range. milled underfolder would be sick too....but not a game changer. |

It would take a little time to make this happen in a Bulgarian 5.56 caliber rifle since the profile of the bolt is the wider akm profile and not easily compatible with ar mags. Something else I could also see is a milled 6.5 platform rifle. It has me thinking something unusual after the talk of "years of development". I could see them doing a 300BO, but it wouldn't take years to develop something like that. Literally just rebarrel a 5.56 gun. None of these options appeal to me, but others may think differently. Edit. On the other hand however, if its a 9mm vityaz clone/neutered vityaz...I will strongly consider getting one. As in where is the nearest black market in order to sell a kidney. |

And .223 models are really getting old as well, I don't care if they do come up with one that uses AR mags, if I want to shoot .22 .cal, i'll use an AR or a 5.45 AK, and .223 AK's have been around for years, nothing "game-changing" about that. 9mm would be cool as Nictra mentioned, .45 acp would be cool in my book, a 30.06 would be a beast: http://www.izhmash-arms.ru/eim/imp/236.html

If you don't like what you have there's a TON of aftermarket stuff to change it, or other "new" AK's like the VEPR and "old" ones like the SAR's, Norincos, Poly's and so on (which are far better IMO). Not as much as AR's but a LOT more than there used to be. Arsenal never floated my boat anyways, but every time they pull this my opinion of them lowers even more. "Hey we just found a few AK's that were lost in our warehouse".....REALLY? 
I've never understood the hardon people have for them....even less when they start using slogans associated with a moronic company YMMV |

I could have done without the milled receiver as well. When they release something new and I get a good look at it, my reaction is usually "WTF are they thinking?". They are completely out of touch with the AK enthusiast/consumer, and live in their own La-La land. Their marketing is very indicative of being removed from their customers, and it's obvious they aren't listening. I don't know what they're smoking over there. Not to mention their cheezy ad campaigns. They desperately need a new graphic designer. They've released decent products, but we're hitting the price wall, indicative of their rifles not selling very quickly at the current price point. |

I have to agree. I was completely surprised they dumped the sheet metal AKs and went to milled only. A true WTF moment there for me. Sure there is a milled crowd, and yes, they are nice, but put all their eggs in one basket I think has hurt them. If they had continued with the SLR family and kept them below $900, they'd be selling like hot cakes and they'd be making a ton of $.
We will just have to wait and see. Maybe someone will email their marketing dept and send them links to all these forums talking about there "game changer". |

Honestly, I don't see what you could call "game-changing" short of an AK-107 clone. A 22lr or 9mm AK would be awesome, but ultimately not that huge of a deal. Everything else has been done to death before, and, FYI, Arsenal? Milled receivers aren't that special. But maybe they've pulled one out of left field and start making the Galil ACE for US export... that would be a big deal, albeit insanely unlikely. |
