In the middle of the night, this Romanian M10-762 dreams about being an AK104...

Thanks.  Yes, I picked it up from ctrax after seeing a similar fake/brake on gunbroker.

Here's something similar:

Late to the party...

Still not sure if I want a standard chop on the 104 or give it the same treatment as the 105.

Micro-105, SLR-107CR and Saiga 12.

The only AK that I own is my Arsenal SLR107CR which became a registered SBR back in December. Unfortunately my computer has crapped out o me so I am having to post from my XBox. As such... I cant post from my photobucket account. but for those who might want to see it, just search my posts on this site and you will find it. Also, fel free to copy pics of it from my old posts to this thread if you know how. Awesome thread for awesome rifles. Very cool.

TX-Zen... did you use an SGL31-94 as your base rifle... need more details... and who did the work for you? Where did you get the GB and Booster? I am sure a lot of posters missed this addition to page 1. Damn!

Yes sir it's an SGL31 but actually a 31-44, the first batch that ever came in. I felt this was a good conversion for it to go along side my other 31-44 that was turned into a 74M clone.
I can't remember where I got the booster and FSBfor sure, but it was probably a fellow collector from a few years ago. I sat on the FSB for a long time before I decided to go ahead and find an SGL31 to convert.

Thanks for the compliments!

Indeed it was Mario at PoHF. His work is amazing and I had him do three rifles recently with this being the last one to come back. I am mightily impressed and it shoots like a dream so far.

Does arsenal make a reproduction of the russian one? I read a person saying this but wasn't sure if it's true or not.

since this is also a discussion thread, I got a some questions:

1. What was the purpose of the shortened AK-102/104/105?

2. What type of accuracy are the different models getting vs. the full length series?

3. Whoever has the "micro" AK-105, can I see a picture of your piston and did you have to modify it?
Link Posted: 7/7/2013 1:34:06 AM EDT
[#37]
1. I believe it was to fill a gap between a full length AK and the AK-74u.The AK-102 in 5.56 was made for export whereas the 104 (7.62) and 105 (5.45) is used by some OMON (Russian Interior Ministry) and Spetsnaz units

2. Certainly out to 100m I notice no real difference in accuracy between my 104 and full length AKM

Heres a pic I took of the 104 this morning after refinishing it yesterday. It feels nicely balanced with the Romy grip and looks very nice now the metals a nice even satin black. It may not be everyones taste but  prefer wood to plastic :)

I would like to mount a sling to the most farthest rear position on my
stock. I have a SLR107CR. I have seen this slot on the AK100 series
rifles just like KVAR AK-432R shows on there sight. Is this doable? To
cut a sling slot in the bottom rear of the folding butstock without
making it look like $#!t

Any ideas that doesn't cost over $200 (or $20 for that matter)

Posted this here as well as you guys will understand what I am asking I think.

Have any of ya'll ever used the rear sling slot?
