Real nice. I would like to do something similar. How does it compare in length to a real Krink? I can't find the barrel length. Is the piston/gas system shorter than a standard AK? Would you be able to put a Krink style break on this? I was never much of a AK guy until I got one. I already have a 10.5" AR and a short AK would be nice to have.

Jeremy Jeremy, the Draco's have a 12.25" barrel although some people are reporting that theirs is 10" or so (different caliber?). Here's a pic of my Draco side by side with my aks74u (approx 8" barrel) for a side comparison.. The 2nd pic has the Bulgy 4 piece brake on it.. 
Not my gun but a Draco with a side folder and 4 piece FH...

Gardner, would you be able to give me a measurment from the back of the reciever to the back of the CTR in the colapsed position? I have an ACE folder on my current AK (9") and I am just trying to get an idea of how short I can go if I put the 7" stock on.

BTW, the stock barrel on my Draco is 10.5".(no FH) I think the barrel is actually 12.5". The barrel on a stamped receiver AK typically extends approximately 2" into the receiver. I had to check with someone first to confirm this. |

Barrel threads are 14X1 LH and concentric they are not (on mine)
I bought a YHM 14X1 QD Mount for my Phantom and the threads were out of spec enough that we decided not to suppress the Draco. Kind of a bummer although the YHM mount is 3" long and I hated the idea of that big long flash hider on there. I like the boom and flash of the Draco. 
I'll save the Phantom for my AR's. It has been done though and good luck if you do. |

Compact ACR2-SC and the Standard Gas Tube rail that is then cut down about 1/2".
You can get the AMD gas tube rail and it will be about 1/2" short but will work fine with the gap at the rear. I did not prefer that look but an untrained eye would never know the difference.

Yup, and that's the cheapest I could find when I was checking out the distributors on Ultimak's site earlier. I'm gonna hold out and see if I can find someone getting rid of a used one. I don't even have a Draco yet, so I have time.

I read you said the Ace integrated adapter locks open tight. I didn't see anything in this thread or on the Ace sight about the stock locking folded. So, stupid question... Does the stock lock in the folded position? Thanks for your time and the inspiration. |

so no need for the ace internal reciever block? Nope. Those are for standard AK's. It just gives you those 2 holes that the folding mechanism mount to. With the Draco, since it has a different rear trunnion, you're creating those 2 holes by drilling/tapping directly into the back of the receiver. |
