Especially glad I've got a solution for mounting a red dot on my AMD-65 without major modifications! |

It's not an super-accurate platform so no need for a higher magnification, lightwieght, no batteries or switches, leupy toughness and lifetime guarrantee.... But the coolest part is the speed with which this thing acquires a target!!! Just point your rifle and its there...shoot both eyes open and no standard scope "tunnel-vision"....almost as fast as a red dot, but more accurate... They're going for $250 right now, you can't go wrong with this IMHO. |

How is that mount secured to the trunnion? I'm sure it's a solid piece but I'm just curious as I really miss being able to take off my gas tube, especially since I shoot a lot of corrosive ammo. I'm really eying one of these, but on the fence until I see some reviews. |

Looks like Belomo/LEMT is getting some business from the Venezuelans. Stole these pics off militaryphotos.net
PO 3.5x21 and PK-AA's. The PK-AA looks similar but is different from the PK-A we are so familiar with here. It sits over the bore as opposed to being offset and has a co-witness. Maybe other things are updated as well with it....not very familiar with this version. May see about ordering one: http://www.lemt.by/page_product_eng.php?id_p=532 |

Not totally sure, the LEMT version you linked to looks to be different than a similar model sold by Eastwave. Same series of scope body but with certain differences, I'm assuming like most of the other recent LEMT designs we won't be able to get them.
The Eastwave model is also on my list actually http://eastwave.ca/products/scopes/pk01aa.html Z |

Always figured it was a very old optic until I noticed the similarities to the LEMT one. I'm thinking they are similar but maybe the LEMT one is an updated design perhaps. Like you said, I see a few differences but nothing glaring. Curious. |

Ran 100 rounds through it this morning and the scope is definitely money well spent. |

Thank you so much for your hospitality!
I am a freshman here on US forum, so please forgive me my offtops (if any) in advance.. We don't have so liberal laws about the arms here in Russia, but we are trying to do our best with our limitations. Those circumstance that we live in the "small-arms-capital" of Russia is always helping, too. I saw M.T.Kalashnikov many times - a live legend indeed... And al the historical sites around the city and the factory, and the factory veterans - as well as the Dragunov's senior sun, who is a small-arms designer, too - we have arranged a meeting with him more than a year ago. He is our big friend, too. So - if we need to address to someone about the specific technical infos - we have a unique opportunity to talk right to the source, not the intermediates. The only rifle wich made not in Russia that I own - is my Savage 10 FCPHSP (.308) with Bushnell 6-24X50. Other stuff is all russian - 2 saiga's: 12-gauge Saiga-12K tactical, 7.62X39 Saiga MK-03 (a civil analogue of AK-105), CM-2KO (.22Lr bolt-action with 6-24X40 scope), 2 Mosin rifles - one is 1934 year's dragoon modification with rail attached, other is original 1944 year' "CBM" - Mosin Sniper rifle with PU scope. I am a professional ex-sportsman - classical .22Lr rifle shooter, State Master Grade. I have also used to work at the small-arms production factory at the experimental, custom and the sport-models branch-area. I am a state-certified televison director, too - since I used to work there for 8 years, making the commercials basicly. And for the last eight years I am practicing as a freelance in this area - as a private commercial photograper and video producer. You can maybe guess that small-arms and the gear factories use my skills sometimes? Bingo! I can give you a samlpes of such a movies (200-years Anniversary of Izhevsk Arms Plant, e.g.) If you want to. |

"Designed by a team of highly decorated, seasoned combat veterans. AKARS improves the user's ability to achieve a more controlled MOA, subsequently allowing for the AK-47 to further its user's max effective range point target. AKARS makes this possible, due to its improved structural integrity of the AK-47's Top Cover, which allows for advanced optics to be very secure while mounted upon the 1913 pick tiny rail of the AKARS unit" Are they serious? |

Gotta say - looks pretty good. Waiting for reports on maintaining zero though before shelling out cash on a tiny Picker.
Like how the back up site is up front and not in back like on the TWS dogleg. Should allow a scope to sit low on the cover. |
|
|
Interesting........I want to hear some feedback before I buy , but appears to be what I'm looking for.
|
|
|
When someone posts a comparison to the TWS I'll consider it further. The ability to take the top cover off of the rail is interesting, and the built in rear sight is a nice touch.

Sir, Sorry about the website's spelling errors, literature/lack there of, and the very old pictures. We are not the best sales man, graphic designers, or public relations experts. Hopefully, you will forgive us of our shortcomings as a new company. We originally designed it for an OIF mission (training local nationals and whatnot...). Anyways if you get past all that, AKARS has gone through five generations before I (Andrew-Founder) got injured and couldn't return to duty. Thus started me & the guys started the company and resided to continue doing what we love to do. -Thanks, Edge http://www.aimsurplus.com/eos/images/product/large_XPPAAKARSG3a.jpg http://www.aimsurplus.com/eos/images/product/large_XPPAAKARSG3b.jpg http://www.aimsurplus.com/eos/images/product/large_XPPAAKARSG3h.jpg http://www.aimsurplus.com/eos/images/product/large_XPPAAKARSG3c.jpg http://www.aimsurplus.com/eos/images/product/large_XPPAAKARSG3d.jpg http://www.aimsurplus.com/eos/images/product/large_XPPAAKARSG3g.jpg that looks good..is there any side to side movement/flex in it?
