Really jealous Had a couple AK's for over half my life, but never been more than a dirt shooter with them. Just decided I wanted to get back into them semi-seriously a couple months ago and saw how awesome the Zentico products were. BAM. Russia invades Ukraine. |

Went through a few stock setups. All of them seemed to twist/fit rather loose in the M70 Reciever. Took a chance on the Definitive Arms Adapter, and I had to tap it in with a rubber mallet. Rock solid fit that feels like it was made for the receiver. I hate the AKM version imo, it has some flaws. But the Yugo Version is pretty damn nice. Replaced the A2 Flash Hider with a Jmac compensated flash hider. Attached File Anyways I went with a VLTOR Buffer Tube. Chopped a Mossberg 500 Magazine Tube Spring, and made it so that the cleaning kit fits inside of the spring. Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File IMO the VLTOR Tubes are great, and give buffer tubes on non AR15s an extra purpose besides being a stock mounting point. |

Yes, it's from Tech Sights. The takedown is a minor PITA when compared to a normal dust cover, but it's not really all that bad once you get the hang of it. The only tool needed is a bullet, which you'll usually have at hand whenever you have your rifle. I feel like it's worth it to have far superior iron sights over the originals. |

Nice, posting for the thread too. I don't think it would be an issue w/ this setup. Honestly I prefer the rear sight behind the optic.  Since the rear sight is no longer needed. You can also throw on a Picatinny Mount such as Attero for the hell of it. Mind as well have that space available for something. Not a huge priority though. The 515GM is a pretty robust optic. Honestly I think I just want to add a Krebs safety to this, and Ill call it good. Still looks tactical, but retains the proper aesthetic. |

I'm back on the mainland! I'm slowly going through boxes of parts that I accumulated over the last couple years of being OCONUS and getting these setups put together. I present an Arsenal 106F with full zenitco, Leader kit, and a literal hens tooth of a Perst Leader that @TX-Zen might enjoy.

You must give a range report or at least first impressions with it. Seems like ZenitCo is starting to solve some of their clunky issues and making the pressure switches and general mounting designs smaller and more efficient |

I've been wanting something from them but don't do any long range shooting really, so some of their more famous options are probably not a good fit for what I do That optic looks like a 1-8 maybe. Could be something I'm interested in for the FEYG after I'm done testing the PA 1-6 |

I’m in the back seat of my brother-in-laws vehicle heading to the ranch in Junction to get some trigger time with the new setup though so more to follow. Initial Impressions on the Perst Leader: Intuitive and easy to use. It’s selector switch is broken down like a clock, 7 to 11 are all daylight settings (white light and via laser) and 1 to 5 are IR settings (laser, flood, combined). 6 o’clock is the off position. Oddity: There are no batteries. It’s recharged via USB and whatever power source you have. Definitely not western style thinking where we have the logistics to bring in batteries, however I do see the usefulness is recharging from a solar powered power bank. I charged it last year some time and let it sit and turned right back on without being plugged in. Jury is still out on that one. I think the biggest draw back is having to choose between IR/white light at any given time vs having both on demand via two different pressure switches. Again, no practical experience with it yet but my thoughts based on past work experience. Optic: This one is a Nightforce NX8 1-8 FFP (30mm). It’s the baby brother to the 1-8 ATACR(34mm). I went this route to keep a slimmer profile. Initial impressions is the glass is clear however the eyebox is tight. I’m a Nightforce fanboy (Own 6x of them now) and like their reticles. They are solid optics and I’ve enjoyed them. You’d have to step up to S&B to get better in my opinion. More to follow! Pic thread  |

How's the accuracy out to range with that NX8, and what's the farthest you have pushed it? |
