Made a few changes to the Practical Romy that qualify it for a re-post from page 1. Much happier with the new set-up. Swapped out the Romy side folder for a Fab Defense collapsible stock and tube. Swapped out the Phantom flash hider for a PWS J-Tac47 brake. I love this brake, this is the third rifle I have put one on. Added a Krebs enhanced selector lever. I like and use this lever on several rifles. Insight M3 weaponlight that occasionally resides on the rifle.  |

Correct. I ordered the fixed (non-recoil reducing) tube but Mako sent me the recoil reducing tube by mistake. I kept it. So I have a recoil reducing stock mounted on a recoil reducing tube. Crazy shit but I like it. |

Had a Bushnell TRS-25 on it, but it kept fogging up internally so I took it off, and now I think I enjoy shooting it more with it just like it is

This is a Arsenal SLR-95. The external stock adapter and pig nose are from ACE. I cut the receiver extension tube down so the Magpul CTR would sit flush with the nut. The grip is the US Palm AK grip. The rail is Midwest Industries for the Leupold Delta Point. The only other changes are a Power Custom adjustable trigger and a Shephard's hook replacement from Krebs. If K-Var every makes a milled stock in the desert sand color, I may switch out the CTR. I'm still contemplating having the barrel threaded and the gas chamber and FSB replaced to accept the rod and bayonet.  |

Even though there is not much new under the sun, here's a couple of pics of my recently acquired Yugo in its' latest evolution. I'm still mulling over swapping out the slant brake for something from PWS and then I think I'm done with it. It shoots good. It only took seven rounds to sight in the TRS-25 at 25 yards despite heavy snow fall. A record for me.

Converted SGL31 with PK-01VS co-witness RDS, Polish Beryl hang guard with Surefire/Vltor set-up, Izzy tactical PG, and a Russian SPOSN sling. It is basically practical and traditional all at the same time, which is what I was going for. Could not get the cleaning rod back in with the Beryl but it is probably better w/o it anyway. |

How does that sling work with the folder? Thanks  . The folder will not work with this sling attached unfortunately, though I have not tried it. The sling swivel on the folder helps to secure the sling and keeps it from sliding down or around the butt stock (see 2nd pic, this sling was made for AK 74M/100's).
The only time I use the folder is for storage anyways. I always convert or buy my AK's with folders, but the truth of the matter is that they really serve little purpose for me. I just think they are cool. |
