Long-time member here (new username though). I am 23 and from Texas. I used to post a lot more here on the Darkside back when CampyBob was here all the time. I used to own two AK variants but sold them to focus on other hobbies. Since that time I decided I needed to keep an AK in my collection so I recently acquired an Arsenal SA M7 Classic. After I got it I remembered why I liked AKs so much. The next will be a Polish underfolder.

As several of you have mentioned, I too have been a long time lurker here and finally opened an account. As far as AK's go, I have a decent WASR, an Arsenal SA M7, and a SLR-106F. To round that out I'd like to pick up a SA M5, and a SLR-107F when they hit the market. A couple ARs, an FAL, a tricked out 10-22... If she only knew the money I have tied up in all this stuff. |

I lurk here mostly. I have had a Mak 90 since pre-ban day. And have an SAR-1 as a backup. I've built a lot of ARs but haven't gotten up the nerve to build up an AK kit. I've seen some beautiful home made AKs here.  Carry on ! p.s. I am a veteran of the Sportman's guide AK mag deal from a few years ago - 20 AK mags for $2.44 each.

Beth, 36, married, Oregon... Generally into pre-1899 stuff/muzzleloaders and soviet bloc stuff. Got the DIY AK bug last year and now I can't stop building them. Read AR15 for 2 months before I tried my first build. Took me 3 months to finish it from a flat. The build I did this past weekend (also from a flat) was for a class I taught (on, obviously, how to build AKs from scratch). I did it in about 6 hours from demill to functional (ugly, but functional). |

I've been on the AR side for a long time. Just picked up a Yugo underfolder to go with my Yugo SKS. Built a AMD-63 (the standard size AK) from a parts kit I've had for a few years. All matching number but the receiver (obviously). Also own a WSAR-10, but I hope the Yugo makes up for it. Av. |

46 yrs old former military, married 9 yrs with a daughter. Love the outdoors, military history and history in general. Have been on the AR-15 side and have come here seeking information on as you say the dark side of things. I like AK's, was shot by one in the late '80s in Panama and yea it hurt(Hit in the vest). When I was able to stand and breath, the Panamanian who had sprayed and prayed was gone. Hmm, old times..... |

Great source of information, even more fun once you actually start posting and contributing. Military Bolt Actions and AK variants are my weak spots when it comes to guns. |

Im a former MP from 88-92 stationed in Germany, was hurt in 89 but completed my tour, came out in 92 went to college 3 yrs, hired by USPS but medically retired by them and the VA in 2000. Im now a permanent 100% disabled veteran. Im originally from Bluefield WV but have lived here in beautiful TN for a lil over 4 yrs. Nice to meet you all! |

I personally prefer the AK style rifles over the M-4 style rifles. 7.63x39 AK variants, .308 M-4's, and 1911's are my weak spots when it comes to guns. |

38 year old, former Navy Corpsman, Desert Storm, owned way too many guns to list. Owned a couple SKS (one unissued 1950's Chinese that makes me cry for having sold off) and a couple of MAK90's. Recently order a Lancaster Consulting Polish Underfolder from Atlantic Firearms and waiting for it to arrive. Long time lurker, figured it was time to come in from the dark. |
| Hi, My name is Tom.I haven't logged in for some time.I have a 2003 side fold Wasser 10 that has been faithfully reliable and i have a Late model Underfold Wasser 10 on layaway that should be home soon. I resolved all the monkey machining on the side folder.I am going to upgrade the fcs with the G2 system soon (once i pay off my underfolder that already has the G2).I have discovered a few quirks about romy AK's and there associated attachments and i will post them soon.....Tom |
Hi there, Stolat here, AR15 owner for a few years, long time firearms enthusiast. I always swore by the AR, accused the AK of being ugly, simple, ect... I just hope shell take me back Seriously tho, I have found a new kind of respect for the AK and AKM variants to be exact. I am not married, I have a live in GF and no kids so I am pretty much free to spend. I do not own a complete AKM yet, but will shortly. I cant wait! Chescz |

Hey there. I'm a 19 year old tech-savvy mofo from Illinois, and I went on a trip to a range with my buddy last September and found out how much fun shooting was. I've been looking around for good sites with accurate information about mods and maintenance for AKs. I personally have a 1993 MAK-90 by Norinco. Right now that's my only one, but I'm sure I'll be getting more. |

I'm Frank. I live in one of the best states in the union to own an AK/AR/FAL...Idaho. Right now all I have in my collection is a Century M70 underfolder, an Ithica 12 gauge and a wolf. I'm fond of anything that goes BANG. I will be adding another AK to my arsenal this year. |

| Hey all. 28 from Nj, transplanted to GA, now a deputy sheriff. As of this second in time, I have never shot an AK. But I own one :) Yugo M70B1 I plan on turning it into a side-folder (all reversable to weapon's original configuration) to be used as a "truck gun". |

I guess I'll pull up a chair and have a seat with you guys. I started life as a AR guy, and have been warming up to the AK for a few years now. An AK is on my shopping list, but for now I'll just have to envy you guys with multiple AK's.

Been on the forum for a year or so. I'm 50, former Marine and gunowner for 25 years. Got my first AK during the Ban, a Polytech Side-Folder. Still have it, also a Arsenal SLR-105R, Romanian PSL, Norinco SKS and Saiga 12. So I have a history with the AK. But I also love the AR, I have a Colt HBar, Circa 1986. This is a great forum. |

Have a couple ARs and stuff. Have been on the AR and long range forums but not AK yet and just got the bug bad to get one or build. I just want one to go bang away with. Pissed I missed the kit buys and guys bought like 6-15 of them from JG. 23, not married yet, no kids yet (thankfully), Graduating college this May. Any points in the right directions for a parts kit and receiver for an AKM build would be greatly appreciated. The other threads and links have not been helpful. |

Recent convert to the Dark Side. I'm an AR fan but had a very nice milled Polytech AK sitting in my safe for over 10 years but only recently started to really shoot it. I found I love it so much I bought another AK. My ARs are getting lonely! |

hello, my name is vince and i have "the sickness."  Im now 20, got my first guns (.22 and rem870 12ga) when i was 15. Bought my first rifle as a self graduation/birthday gift when i turned 18 - it was a wasr-10. I love working on my guns so fixing up the wasr was no big deal. Im in college for chemical engineering and im currently saving up for my first AR (Stag) later this month. after that is a better ak. I serve at a restaurant to make $  gotta do what ya gotta do...I am a meber over at shotgunworld and look forward to the great discussions and information to be had here. see yall around |

55 yrs old, married happily for 25yrs. 4 kids, 14 grandkids including stepgrandkids. 1 daughter active military currently in Iraq. Bought a Romy underfolder the other day. 1st one. Fixin to buy a Yugo underfolder. Been sittin on the fence for a long time. Time to take action. Got a Bushmaster also. Gonna give some wild hogs a fit a the deer lease. hehe |

I currently own 3 Yugo underfolders, 1 M&P15, 1 Les Baer TRS, 1 SS Springfield Mil-Spec, 1 Springfield EMP, 1 High Standard Compact Crusader (yes, also a 1911) refinished by Elite Custom Plating and Weaponry, 1 Walther P22 and a Mini Firestorm .40 cal... I think that's most of what I have. I was raised in a very anti gun environment, so I've had to put my little collection together in my later years. It will grow! |
