Just picked this up and was shooting today, I'm very new to the ak platform but it appears to be an ejection issue. It's a 95 intrac maadi with matching numbers. had about 10 fte in 100 rounds. Variation in fte pattern and inconsistency with ejected rounds. 
Edit. Looks to be the extractor (one the right)

The picture is of the ejector, not the extractor. Either one can cause failure to eject. To try and figure out what’s happening try: 1) Strip and clean the bolt. While the bolt is apart check the extractor spring for tension and damage, debris preventing the extractor from moving, and chipped or dull extractor edge. 2) If all that looks good reassemble the bolt, leave out the firing pin. Take a round and snap it into the bolt face. Does the extractor firmly hold the base of the cartridge against the bolt face? Try and pull the base out against the extractor (opposite of how the ejector hits the base). 3) If all that’s ok, reassemble the bolt and bolt carrier, leave the spring off. When you run the bolt back slowly does the ejector almost completely fill the ejector slot in the bolt? Try applying some sideways pressure to the bolt and see if there is any significant gap. 1 and 2 can be fixed by swapping parts, 3 is either welding up ejector or straightening the receiver. AJ |
