I used the brake for a bit more than 2 weeks now.
After 600+ rounds through it, I am ready to form my opinion. The brake is fairly good as a muzzle brake, but it is certainly not a flash hider. Under lower light conditions, the flash it makes is fairly dramatic. That being said, the brake will decrease muzzle rise, and for the price, its a great value. It is better than the AK slant brake, but not as good of a MB as a AK74 brake. The AK74 type brake actually has a better flash suppressing function than the MB by Damage, Inc I really like the looks of the MB by Damage, Inc, and how it functions is fairly good, so it will continue to stay on my AK. |
I installed a brake on a Romy AK for a friend while he is out of the country. The Damage brake is a big improvement over a bare muzzle and the AK slant brake. Side blast is not bad at all. It would have been a smooth install, but I had to rent a 14x1 LH die to recut the shallow threads from Romania.

AK-47s and AKM use 14x1 muzzle threads. AK-74s and newer use 24x1.5 muzzle threads. Though, there are thread adapters you can use if you want to use a muzzle device that is threaded different than your rifle. |
