It's a 106cr. Mods were the Ultimak, KCI retainer plate, G2 and a new pistol grip. Had the barrel cut down to about 14 1/2 and threaded 1/2x28 for the Surefire FH which is perm. attached. Went with an open prong style to make cleaning easier. The FH will take several different SF cans. Came out to 16 1/16 and handles very well.

The top rifle is an Arsenal 105A1 that the previous owner had worked over into a AK74M configuration. It's a work in progress. So far all I've done is add the Ultimak, a retainer plate, and G2. Picked up a triangle stock to swap out with the poly folder, and plan on setting it up just like the 106 when funds allow.

I figured that but i see some parts that have "chunks" that makes it kinda look like it was literally thrown into the mud. I kinda like it

Don't worry, it comes off pretty easily. I am thinking about stripping it and going with a darker tan and brown.....

Much like mine too.  I didn't use textured paint but it sure looks like it.

Gotta pimp this picture out for this thread (cross posted). Milled MAK90 converted to an underfolder. Not exactly new, but newly converted.

It is so damn hot right now that the spray paint dried just about instantly.  I would paint one side and wait about 5 min tops before flipping it over to paint the base layer on the other side.
Total time was maybe 30 min total for the whole project...
Tan base
OD stripes
Then sponged on tan/green over opposite color
Added a little brown
Finished with a little tan over spray to knock down the brown/green since I wanted it to be more tan-ish

The color in real life is closer to the first pic, but the tan is less gray than the pics.

In person it blends in real well it the dry and green grass.

Just acquired this ak74 on Sunday.  Took it to the range today and all is great.  No keyholing, perfect function, love the compensator.

Have you shot it yet? Does it keyhole? A buddy of mine picked up one of these M74's from Wideners. Let us know how it shoots!

I guess it would have been beneficial if I had read the words above your pictures huh.

haha, as stated, no keyholing.  Secondly, performed a "bullet test" in the muzzle and it passed as well.  Insert jacketed bullet into muzzle and if some of the bullet remains OUTSIDE of the crown, you have an in-spec barrel.  At least, thats the best I know to describe it and I hope I described it properly, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.  Gun ran great

Arsenal SLR that is staying in the classical configuration.  I have an AR-15 (Bushmaster XM15 w/ ACOG M150) that is definitely my go to tactical rifle but I can't help but love the underfold AK.  All wood furniture...no plastic (polymer is cool for guys who are looking to get full utility but I like the original look for what I am asking of my rifle).

If you're interested in picking up a '74 wood set you might PM me as I'm going to be selling one soon (it comes with my '74 kit).

Hi Guys.  This is my first post at AR15.com.  What a great resource this is.  Below are pics of my Arsenal SGL21.  I've replaced the stock muzzle brake with a Manticore flash hider, added a US Palm grip and, in the later pictures a MI/US Palm rail system and Aimpoint T1.  It's a great setup.

I was actually trying to capture the flames coming out the sides of the muzzle but they switched to wolf by the time I was able to get some pictures. Yugo m67 makes that thing a flame thrower.

Hi guys. On Friday, I received a new milled receiver Bulgarian underfolder from Mike Friend at the Firing Line. It is a thing of beauty... well, as beautiful as an AK 47 can be anyway. The rifle was built on Firing Line's own milled receiver. The parts used were all virgin Bulgarian as was the barrel. The furniture all looks great and the pistol grip is checkered. I don't know the origin of the folding stock and do not know how to determine that. It came with a thirty round Circle Ten waffle pattern magazine. The U.S. parts were the receiver, G2 triggger group, gas piston and slant brake. Only five U.S. parts are needed on a milled receiver AK. It's nice that the Firing Line put all required U.S. parts in/on the gun and did not use a junky magazine to count as three parts. This way, I can use any magazines I wish.

Here are some pics. I wish I could take the magazine quality pics some of you guys take, but I just don't know how.

Call me crazy but, I've always liked the looks of the AMD. Had read a few things about the builds from TGI, some good, some not so good. At any rate, I took a chance and ordered one from Centerfire. The gun seems to have been better built than some I've read about. The point at which the folder is attached is cleanly cut but there is some exposed metal showing. No biggy. The button that releases the stock is very stiff. I added one of the stock attachments from AMD Tech and that will be helpful with cheek weld. Before I added this attachment, a nose weld was the best I could achieve.

Anyway, nothing special about this gun except it's mine. If it's reasonably accurate and 100% reliable, I'll have what I expected to have.

One thing I dislike about this gun is that TGI used a Tapco magazine to count as three U.S. parts and the G2 trigger group ans the other three parts. This means, to use a better magazine, I'll have to add three U.S. parts and beyond the pistol grip, things get rataher dicey for a putz like me.

Yes, the shiny parts are silver.

Arsenal SAS M-7, 7.62x39

swapped furniture for wooden ones and sanded off finish due to cosmetic issues with original finish running off from CLP BreakFree Solvent.

My friend Kpym (Krum) is a Bulgarian AK.  I've cut off the tang and chucked the chode stock (choate dragunov garbage) replacing with a magpul stock with hogue grip.  On front is a PA RDS mounted on the MI/Palm handguard set.  This POS is not shooting well so I'm toying with the bullet guide for now.
