I got this like most everyone with the original wood.I put a UTG rail and removed the gas tube ring.Installed a RDS stock with a little fitting.Changed the pistol grip.Added a Truglo scope and mount.Painted the receiver and gas tube.Installed the flash hider for my AAC suppressor.Added a #1 Grip pod.I filed the back of my scope mount at an angle so the stock can fold all the way flat.

Could you post a pic of your handy work on the scope mount?

Just picked up my first AK today. It wasn't my fault though. I went to the fun store to pick up some ammo for a day at the range tomorrow. And there it was in all it's glory and for only $425. If you're in Alabama Hoover Tactical Firearms have a few more left so go get you one...or two

Yup. Guy's name was Tim, out of Florida. I think his username was Jadnil. Amazing homemade wood furniture.

ETA: I found his page. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/SellerAuctions.aspx?User=1082396

Unfired Romy G kit on a Global Trades Armory USA receiver. Tapco G2 trigger kit, Tapco piston and slant brake.
Finish is original as it came on the kit, except the wood.
The receiver came finished and the serial number was custom ordered to match the kit. I did an identical rifle for a buddy of mine, as a gift.

WSAR-10

Traded a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 Mil-Spec for it....

The rifle came with the following items

200rds Wolf FMJ
8 30rd magazines
1 5rd magazine
Eotech 5.11 A65
SureFire 623FA Mossberg 590/500 Shotgun Forend Weaponlight
Surefire Classic Universal Weaponlight

Basically $1000 worth of stuff for a pistol I had only invested $450.

Arsenal makes the best one (as made by K-VAR). The KV-04S is expensive, but after using other ones (like my failure of a part UTG side mount ) it's worth the money. That thing is rock solid.

The newer WASR's are threaded.  Do you know what type of threads they use?  I have a 7.62x39 AK 74 style break that I'd like to use.  It has the standard 14X1 LH thread.

My first and so far only AK: a Romy G kit on an ITM receiver I refinished. Picked this up in a trade and I love it. I need to get some decent metal mags. The metal ones it came with sucked, hence the Tapco...

Here is my Romanian PSL from Aim:

Got it several months ago, only brought it out to shoot once since then, and initially about bent it over my knee trying to sight it in (never learned romanian) but after bringing out another scope to "help", i got it fairly well dialed in. shooting old eggs about avery other shot at 100 yards after i got it set.

Rifle is '75, scope '79.  Really like the style of this gun. never really in to ak's, have several ar's, but couldn't resist the look of it, even having never handled one personally before the purchase.  along with the 8 or so mags I ordered, couldnt be happier!

Just your basic WASR-10/63 from NY. I refinished the wood with some minwax stain and satin poly clear coat. I like it.

ETA: bought this gun from DD's Ranch in Alden, NY. These guys are advertising in the EE. Mine came with two pre-94 chinese spineless mags, a nice leather sling, oiler, and cleaning kit for only $439.99. They run a good operation and I had a good experience buying from them.

Before and after shots of my 10/63

New out of the box (minus the ton of cosmoline it was caked in)

After putting its first 1k rounds through it, I decided to Cerakote it and give the stocks a bit more color

Not as low as it looks actually, if you want something real low look into an Ultimak.

The rail in question however is a Sure Fire M83. Hope I've been of help!

No, I meant what mount is on the Aimpoint. Most Aimpoint mounts I see raise the optic.
