LP-01**-73  RO
GP WASR-10/63 KR
X Y receiver
NO dimple.
Made in SA/Cugir
This Is A real sub gun from Romania with a brake welded on it to get it in the US.
All numbers match but the safety.
Look up the last revolution in Romania ( I think in the 80's ) and you will see this gun.

Nice.  I think the MkII rifles are some of the best 545 rifles imported.

Two WASR 10/63s, I've since traded one in on a Saiga 12. Standard furniture, Jadnil upper handguard, Jadnil pistol grips, Romy take-off lower handguards, all refinished by me.

Other than installing drop in stocks and a drop in flash suppressor what did he do for the rest of that money?

A lot of internal work.  The action is much much smoother than it was before.  Fixed canted sights.  Among other things.

To break down the cost of the rifle it was $400 for the rifle, $100 complete furniture set from K-Var, $120 XS Big Dot sights (which I'm still trying to get used to on a rifle; like them on handguns though), and $475 for all the shop work; repark, etc.

A tad steep, but nice rifle nonetheless.

That's cool.  He does great AK work, and if you liked the end result, that's all that matters.

Wasr 10-63, fixed all the typical problems with them (canted sight/wobbly mags/bolt getting stuck).
Probably the most fun of any ak platform gun I've ever shot. couldn't be happier with the parts I chose.

I posted pics around and just remembered I didn't post here

I call it my mongrel AK  Has a little bit of everything from everywhere:
Romanian gun.
Phillipine scope (Nikon 1-4)
Chinese scope mount (UTG).
Hungarian magazine (Not the one pictured).
Bulgarian Buttstock.
East German Sling.
US Muzzle Brake.
(Yes, it's 922r compliant).
And it's shooting Russian ammo!!  Eight countries in one gun!!!

May be a mongrel but she shoots pretty danged good and set up perfect for me.

Just finished making some upgrades to my SAR-3 to include an Ak-74 stock set from the Ukraine that arrived yesterday.  I couldn't be more pleased with the stock set, and might pick up another to keep in reserve for my upcoming Arsenal purchase.

I've been lurking on the site for a while now, and decided to finally create an account.  Figured I might as well break it in with a post of my WASR to the pic thread... (It's a video, but same idea)

Some pics of my WASR 10/63. The original furniture has been refinished (by Sinatra) with a Russian Red formula. It was just a little too shiny, so I toned it down with some 0000 steel wool.

WASR 10/63 UF. I think the old Soviet slab-side mag goes well with the lack of dimples on the WASR. Soviet boonie I got for a buck at a yard sale in the background.
