Looking at getting a VZ58 or a variant. Love the design. However, I have a need for an optic, so a rail is going to be a requirement. Prefer a fixed stock, don't like folders. I know a lot about all sorts of guns but virtually nothing about the VZ58 design until recently. |

It's either a VZ58 or not. The VZ2008 is just the new manufacture semi auto ones. For optic mounts you have 3 options, side rail, dust cover or gas tube. VZs have both flavors of stock. I started with a parts kit and used an AWO receiver. |

I have one from Czech Small Arms (CSA) and it comes tapped for a side-mount. The VZ isn't cheap but IMO is totally worth it. Outstanding quality all around. |
