Anyone here try the Bulgarian AK74 burnt orange mags?
Lock up nice, did function test with dummy rounds, see ok. Of course, only 5 dummies. Will go to the range and try the mag out, at first with 5 rounds, then 10 , 20 and finally 30. Hopefully this will be a cheap alternative to expensive or unobtainiam mags. Will get to the range in the next couple days. |

5.45x39 mags generally don't work well in 5.56 guns because of the difference in case lenght & case taper...
Wieger E. German mags (made as 5.56) are the hands down best in SAR-3 (in my experience) |

Even after you cut the front flip on a 74 mag you can only really shoot 15-20 rounds out of a standard mag and it will still have issues. Weiger mags, or Romanian mags (weiger copies) are what you need. I've used the bulgarian (10) mags are also very good and are reliable just have to fit them to your gun generally which isn't hard. Some people have said that the tapco galil mags work good after fitting them i have no idea how true it is. |

Missed out on the mags from Century. Just did a full thirty round full mag feed check on one of the red Bulgarian mags. Hand cycled 30 rounds, no bobbles nor jams. Atlantic Arms had the same success.  ZASTAVA ARMS ZPAP85 AK Pistol 5.56x45mm |
