I find a $600 preban MAADI hard to believe. There was only one "preban" MAADI and that was the STEYR MAADI.
If it is anything but a STEYR, it is not a true preban. If it is a STEYR...then $600 is a steal and a half. On the very rare occassion that a STEYR pops up it commands a hefty $2500-$4000 price tag. If it is an INTRAC or PARS INTL MAADI then it is a postban that has been converted back to original. $600 is still a good deal depending on the quality of work reinstalling the correct gas block, stock, finish... There is nothing at all wrong with a Type-56S spiker, but Chinese just isn't my flavor and I would vote MAADI every time first. |
| The Maadi is cool especially after I saw Red Dawn in junior high. But the spiker fits in my nam collection best. The only thing that makes it not a perfect semi auto match for the T56 is that it has a stamped not milled receiver. I have only ever seen one milled polytech spiker. That was about 6 years ago and they wanted $2500 then. |

This would be my vote all day. Now if you do decide on the Norinco I would love a shot at that Maadi if it's still for sale...
44 Edit: In regards to the above mentioned price point on the Steyr, theo nly 4K price tag I have seen on a Steyr was actually a Red Dawn gun sold by a OK member. Most I have seen for sale sell between $1200-1800, there are occasional deals to be had though... |
