GLOCKshooter, while the Polymers may not be better than metal I will say I do like the Bulgarian waffles and the EARLY Polish ones for weight and the fact they do NOT rust, I will also say I do NOT like the newer ones that either country produced for the CIVILIAN market. To me they are not doing anything more than screwing the public and trying to live off the reputation from the early MILITARY polymer mags.
As to the Palm mags I questioned them at first after seeing what outfits like Tapco, Promag and NOW Bulgaria and Poland are putting out. I asked that they cut one in half. I admit I got on their case hard and had to apologize for it. Now that we are seeing some of us were right we see NO apology to us from Palm for actually questioning them. Will I be buying more than the original one I am testing? I seriously doubt it, but it depends on what Palm says and actually DOES to improve their product. |

The company also has a representative who's a member here. He was happily posting to promote the product - where the heck is he now with the posts on so many issues and sleazy marketing/lies about them.
I'd think most other vendors that did such busines practices here on the forum would no longer be welcomed as a member. Especially vendors that would be in league with a convicted felon. |

It seems like as soon as they were caught in a lie, the company rep went into hiding. Their response to being called out says as much about them as their lying about their product. Let's see... Tell lies until you get caught, cast aspersions on anyone who doubts you, allude to some huge master conspiracy, and then hide and act like nothing ever happened, praying it will all just go away... Holy crap! I think their company rep is Bill Clinton!!! |
|
The forum should be a place where members can enjoy the fellowship of each other's wisdom, experiences, and thoughts. When new vendors/companies roll in with a new product, there shouldn't be any backlash or fear in posting experiences, opinions, or thoughts regarding whether that vendor/company's product is superior/satisfactory/inferior. Hopefully, members can post their comments to help protect each other from wasted money, time, and effort on potential sub-quality products. That's one of the benefits of the forum - it's a clubhouse for like-minded enthusiasts. One would think it's not to serve as a platform for vendors to market their products and have protection from posts about members' observations and experiences with their product when it's found to be of low quality and different than their marketing description.
It's unfortunate - I know a lot of folks were looking forward to a quality product. Perhaps if their representative made an appearance to accept some of the posted observed issues, declared the observed issues as helpful, and mentioned fixes to those problems would be incorporated into the next, improved run the deal might not be as big. I know some perceptions would be changed if they were to be accepting of the issues then accepted receipt of all failed magazines and replaced them with newer, improved ones. |

wonder how many troll accounts he had here |
| In fairness to Mr Suarez, while he was a dirty cop and spent time in jail for fraud he plea bargained his way out of the (multiple) felony perjury charges. So he's not a convicted felon. Lying scum? Yes. Fraud? Yes. Criminal and a con man? Yes. General oxygen thief and discredit to gun owners everywhere? Yes. But never convicted of any felonies. |

I gotta tell ya. I believe the only way Gabe is even known is he conducts training with the AK platform. Something that many others trainers do not offer.
I grow tired of even even hearing about him. I am sure US Palm has even given him the time of day is because he is the only known AK trainer out there. I love how he calls himself Mercenary Teacher, Infidel, Warrior and all that other non-sense. I am quite certain that he has not stepped foot in the middle east with an AK in hand. After I am done working in Afghanistan training the Afghan Security Forces, I should go into the AK training market. I got a lot of several real good dude at my disposal with real life AK experience. Better that that we are not Spetnatz pozers, wont jeopardize you safety, wont have another instructor shoot toward me, wont do combat rolls of other goofy flippy things and we dont have criminal records. We will offer you nothing but quality training that is based on what really works, not what looks cool. Taught by guys that have actually been there and done that. ETA: we now return you to your regularly scheduled AK30 Magazine discussion. |

Did they ever add the stainless steel cage to the feedlips area or is it still plastic with a bit of metal in the front an rear? For about the same money I can have 2 Tapco mags with a box of ammo. |

To my knowledge, they are still all plastic in the feed lip area. As for the "review", that person is parroting the first reported broken US PALM mag that was on another thread here. I am 99.99% sure that review was not from some mag they had received from Brownell's. |

The service tech I spoke to told me that they have some about 50 of these mags so far and have not had any returned yet. |

You would think their review system would be intuitive enough to only allow reviews from products you have actually ordered from them. |

Why go to lets say 10 different sites and it is the same reviewers at each one? I would like to make judgments of reviews based on a larger sample pool. If you did not order from there, you should not be reviewing from there. Only exception in my opinion would be if the system states if you actually bought the item from them. I know when I look at reviews on Newegg, com, it is intuitive enough to let me know if the reviewer had actually bought from them. |

Guys, keep the subject on the Palm mag and not Suarez. Gabe is a good instructor, maybe not the best role model, but he certainly has done much to make the AK more mainstream in my opinion.
I certainly agree with everyone that they should have metal reinforced lips as the circle 10 Bulgarian mags. I simply will not spend that kind of money on a mag if it is not reinforced by metal feed lips, period! |

If so then the next time I am stateside, (this summer) I will order a couple and test them along side a Circle 10 and see what we see. |

Hoot, I think you make a good point, but what about the 50 that did sell. I think it says something that none of them felt compelled to review their mags good bad or ugly. Sounds like they just said "meh" and moved on. |

I have to agree with Hootbro about posting reviews on a site you didnt order it from,it could easily give the illusion of a shill or someone with an axe to grind.if i was researching an item and seen the same reviewer on several diff sites it would throw up a red flag IMHO |

I skipped the horse$hit and went right to page 6 (so, i suppose i skimmed some of it).
I got mine. I like the metal lined feed lips––can't wait to see how they hold up. I like the looks and design and hope to report back that I've had no problems with either of the two I bought. So far I only have about 90-120 through each mag, but no problems...I don't care to torture test them or any of my ten circle 10s, but we'll see. I'm cautiously optimistic that if there are any problems with the design, they will be fixed in future generations of the product. I for one am glad US PALM (Tango Down?) came along and did something new for the AK––though the Magpul guys are a little too high-speed superfly technical for me, the company itself has put out some innovative product that I can appreciate; but they chose not to do anything for the AK people. Here's hoping US PALM steps up. |
| Yep. I meant metal-lined mag locking tabs. The feed lips are what worry me (well, that and the bottom falling off). The lips appear to be thick and well made...I hope these early models will be revised in future iterations. US Palm could be more like Magpul and less like Tapco (though I hear Tapco makes some okay stuff for -insert gun model or part-). Am going to be putting another 150+ rounds through each mag this week. |
| My thoughts on this in comparison to the Pmag for the AR. For years had to get only the USGI mags with green followers etc for $20 a whack. Along comes the Pmag for $15 each with rugged reliability that was better than any metal mag out there and you can still use the stripper clips and cheap speed loader. Then they come out with the window in their mag and the price on the original drops even more. Hands down the best magazine out there for the AR (IMHO) Thing with the AK, steel magazines are way more reliable than the AR's USGI magazines. And can be bought from $10-30 depending on how hard you look. Polymer magazines, reliability still resemble that of old in which they were unreliable. Stripper clips and cheap metal speed loaders won't attach to the mag. If the US Palm had a warranty like the PMag, reliability of a pmag and PRICE of a pmag I would be all over a stack of them. But for $30 each I'm really hesitant, as some others have said I've been burned by U.S. magazine manufacturers before who made high standard claims. |
