Enhanced safety for the AK47 featuring an extended finger shelf for easier manipulation.

Very cool, my machining skills are limited and I wanted something just like this. Ready for shipping soon? How much?
Edit: they're 59.99, nevermind I like my stock safety lever. Price 'em reasonably and I think you'll see much more business, most guys want a BHO notch and that's more work they'd have to do to it. |

| A bho notch would be easy to add to this. I don't think $60 is outrageous, though. It's a huge step up in capability for the AK. Krebs sells for the same price, iirc. |

Please explain how a BHO notch on the selector makes another place for debris to enter your rifle Being that it's not an auto BHO (like on an AR), I don't see how using it for visual checks or malfunction drills is very useful. When the AK goes "click" you rack the bolt to extract the dead round. If it still fails to fire, you pop off the top cover and look for the problem. When the safety is engaged, there is a gaping hole into your rifle's internals for debris. I don't plan on rolling in mud, but it's still a place for dust and rain water to enter the rifle. http://www.krebscustom.com/RawPhotos/7-13-09/MkVUnderfolderSafety-2.jpg ![]() I dremeled a BHO notch in my safety in a few minutes. It's handy at the range. Looks like the extended safety piece could be made with some sheetmetal and a rivet gun for a couple bucks. $65 ![]() |

I know it won't probably affect function, but I don't want to add water and dirt removal to my cleaning regiment. Can you not use a chamber flag at the range? No modification needed for that. |

Spot welder and sheet metal. Your set. |
| You guys forget two things this is Scottsdale Gun Club and US Palm. Imagine if Beverly Hills had a gun shop or there was a gun club of Orange county. Ok well thats what we have here in AZ we have Scottsdale or Snobsdale as other AZ locals call it. Great people that work there but they have insane prices that I am sure allot of people on that side of town and that demographic have no problems paying. Add US Palm to that mix and its a match made in heaven. |
Sorry SGC & US Palm, but everyone posting in here in agreement. It has no bolt hold open option and it is not reasonably priced. Fail. |

I saw a kit with that same metal tab and two rivets for $12.
http://www.solartactical.com/AK-EXTENDED-SAFETY-SELECTOR-TAB-127.htm I guess the other $53 is for install and parkering. |
|
I am ASSUMING that the $65 is for the entire safety selector assembly as well as the riveted on tab thingy...? Brownells sells the factory replacement safety selector assembly retail for $44 and dealer cost is like $35 so even if they're getting the selector assembly for $30 a pop in bulk and then add the cost of the tab rivets and labor, they really aren't "crazy" per say with the price at $65; over priced yeah maybe, but not quite "crazy" IMO; they have to make a profit. If I was in the business of making them I'd probably try to make the price at least on par with other brands (like Power Custom and the others mentioned here) and try to make my profit in bulk sales rather than going for the whole load in a hundred peaces or so, but I'm not in that business so...ahhh yeah.... I guess that was a long winded way of saying I won't be buying one at that price.
Now if this is $65 for just that little tab, two rivets and some common sense instructions about how to drill a hole and set a rivet, yea that's pretty insane...

Diapers and Politicians should be changed often, and for the same reasons.
|
I doubt they are buying safeties @ $30 each.

| i purchased one and its junk. It was bent to the point where it wouldnt fit on 3 different AKs. It appeared that when they pressed the rivet it was done too hard and bent the safety just enough so the safety would not clear the receiver. I emailed US Palms and was very respectful and explained the issue and never heard back from them. That will be the last product of theirs I ever use and will never reccomend them. |
