I see people crapping on WBP, but I haven't done a lot of research into what the issues are. I'm considering a stripped-down WBP Jack in 5.56 to throw my extra AKM hardware on for a shorter plinker to go with my Zastava M90. Any reason not to get a WBP Jack? I'm specifically looking at the ones at Atlantic Firearms. This one |

Some of the early 5.56 Jack models had some reports of poor accuracy, but I haven't heard anything negative beyond that, and I can't say if those were widespread issues or not. I've bought a few individual WBP parts - stock sets, barrel components, etc. and all the parts are nicely made. Don't own a complete rifle though |

I've heard firing pins break a lot and it's a nitride barrel. I bought a PSA 101 that has a nitride barrel and supposedly has the firing pin problem but it's been 100% solid but it's only got 2k-2500 rounds. I only paid $650 but made me realize how much I like 556 AKs. I'm only comparing because I've heard bad things about both but maybe I got lucky. With that said I wouldn't spend a thousand on a wbp but that's just me. If I was spending a grand and already had an m90 which seems to be the most solid in that price range I'd probably save up and get a sam5, beryl, or new meridian 101. |

Hmm , have not heard of a bunch of issues on WBP. I picked up a full stock classic with optic rail back in 2024 and have had no issues as of yet. It has a chrome lined barrel and is surprisingly accurate. Now I have not beat the crap out of it and can only say that when shooting Yugo M67 ammo I get a bit of trigger slap , but that's the only negative. |

There were a small number of early-2022 WBP 5.56 production rifles that experienced issues due to a few out-of-spec crowns. That issue was identified and resolved, and we have not seen any problems with current production WBP 5.56 rifles. While we hear occasional references to firing pin issues, only four such cases have been officially reported to WBP out of thousands of rifles shipped to U.S. shooters. WBP provides excellent warranty service when needed, especially with the implementation of WBP USA.  |

May not be a military factory, but IIRC WBP were the ones who bought a lot of FB Radom's older production tooling when they set up their new factory. Plus WBP is obviously getting a lot of current Polish spec parts that look basically the same as what comes out of FB Radom. I would not be surprised at all if WBP was a means for FB Radom to produce a lot of parts for export without running into bureaucratic issues with the Polish government. |

I wish I hadn't sold my 7.62x39 AK years ago, but now that I'm being back into them, I don't feel like adding it back into the collection. That's why I'm looking at 5.56 AKs now. I already have a Zastava M90. Yeah I have a few and some ammo still but I'm not stacking crappy steel case at the price it is. I'm only buying AKs in 556 moving forward and might slim down my 762 if the timing is right. I like shooting the round and love AKs so it's a bummer. Luckily 556 AKs are awesome. M90 is on my list and hoping some cool stuff is still yet to come. |

I still have 5k rounds of Golden Tiger, so the current cost of ammo is not an immediate concern for me… I chased the 5.56 dragon for a few years. No matter the make, Russian, Bulgarian, or something else, I could never get a 5.56 AK to group decently unless it was heavy grain match ammo. Ultimately gave up. There’s better platforms for the round at that cost. |

Galil ACEs are the best AKs I own short of the SG 551/550. An Arsenal SAM-5 is a nice rifle as well. WBP just has occasional QC issues from what I’ve seen and read.  Failed To Load Title  Failed To Load Title Lemon grenade has been down these rabbit holes many of times. He owns and loves a variety of AKs, including the SG 553 (original import). I guess if you want a kit build to use existing parts, go ahead and try it out. Just be mindful that you have to use WBP specific parts, as their 5.56 AK spec is not Russian spec or Bulgarian spec, etc. |
