Made by Northern Arizona Muntions (NAM). First 2 pics are of a .223 Raufoss with sea green tip, containing barium, titanium, and zirconium sponge, burning at 5000 degrees. The next two pics are a .223 APIT with silver over red tip. Commercial headstamps RP/223/rem and PMC/223/rem. wolfgang

The "APIT" projectile's "AP" core looks mysteriously a lot like the steel insert in the tip of SS109/M855 projectiles. I'm guessing somebody just dissected a bunch of SS109's and used the steel inserts to build these "APIT" bullets with, and then mislabel them as armor piercing, and sell them for an obscene price at a gun show.
