| I shot about 150 rounds of this ammo today in a 20in AR. I did not know that my barrel was a 1 in 12 before shooting this ammo, but after shooting 150 rounds and all the holes looked like the side a bullet...lol. I can only blame myself though, no big deal, I am going to be getting more AR's in the future. The ammo functioned fine, no jams. The only advice I would give to someone looking to purchase this ammo is, make sure you know your twist rate, if its a 1:12, your rifle probably will not like Radway Green. A faster twist rate is needed, my barrel was unmarked though (only had C MP C markings) and I assumed it was a 1:7. |
| I ran about 200 rounds (RORG 91) through a 14.5" M-16 (about 100 suppressed and the rest unsuppressed) a couple months ago without any incident. I felt it was enough to buy four more cans from Wideners. When I get back from deployment I'll have to see how the stuff in the other four cans turns out. |
| I picked up 2 cans of this stuff from AIM and have shot around 300 rounds through my LMT M4 16" and mutt M4 14.5" (colt barrel and BCG). The only issue I have had is that Il get a FTFeed occasionally (1 or 2 rounds from each mag). It seems like the BC does not go all the way back to insert the next round I have tried different mags and get the same results. It seems to me that the SS109 has a weaker load causing a short stroke thus the FTF. I have had no problems with the M855PD using the same rifle/mags. I do have the Tubbs carrier weight on all my AR's and this could be the issue (heavier carrier and weak loads). I have removed the carrier weights and will retest the ammo this week. My overall impression of this ammo is OK for range ammo, but I would not bring this ammo to a fight. |
| I sent 60 rounds of it downrange today, from my relativley new Bushmaster 16" M4. I had only shot 90 rounds of 223 before today. Its chambered in 5.56. 92 headstamp The first round needed a tap on the forward assist, but it ran flawlessly after that. No FTF or FTE and grouped nicely around 1 1/2 to 2" @ 100 yards from a bench and a 3x9 scope. I would definately buy more of this. |

Put a can of 720 through my AUG last November with no issues at all. Just picked up a FS2000 and ran 120 rnds in it today. Works good. I'm in Fairbanks right now and everything ran good in the cold (@+5 F nice & sunny too) with the crappy sights, EOTech in bound. Right now it is $249 a can here.  |
| I've used Radway in my bushmaster m-4 I've shoot over 3 cans of this stuff from WIEDNER's when it was like $129 or somthing a can it seemed as accurate as I could expect from surplus not to dirty out of 2160 rounds of this stuff I had one FTF It was the last round from the bottom of the can and it had some grease or somthing on the end of the caseing I think it ate the primer sealent if they are even sealed and caused it to fail other than that. I'll keep shooting it. |

Just thouht i would give you a review of my experiance with Radway Green ammuniton. I live in the UK about 6 miles from the Radway Green factory in Cheshire. I have fired in excess of 40000 rds of this ammunition over the last 20 years through several SA80 service rifles, and two of my own. I will keep this review to my own rifles. I have a Olympic arms AR15A2 HBAR (manually operated of course) and a Rem 700 PSS. The surplus ammo that at present is availible for us to purchase is '04 and '05 manufacture.Both rifles have 1 in 9 twist. I have easily fired 6000 rds through my AR15 (it is the only ammo i use through this rifle) Obviousley i cant comment on extraction problems as we cant as civilians have self loading rifles but we get excellent results out to 600yds with this rifle. I have a Leopold scope on the rifle but using battle sights i have shot sub 3 inch groups at 100yds and sub 3 inch at 300yds with scope. I have a .22rf conversion kit for this rifle so i can at least have abit of fun on semi auto. (yes we are allowed semi auto rf) The Remmy PSS is the most accurate out of box rifle i have ever owned. I have a S & B PM II scope fitted but do use other ammo through this rifle as i do use it for hunting (bit heavy i know but awsome rifle) At 100 yds you can litterally put 04 & 05 ammo on top of each other and sub 2 inch at 300yds. I have used earlier made ammo and never got this kind of accuracy. The ammo we use at our club is boxed in 30 rd packs. Most of the ammo on stripper clips i have been told is made on different faster machines (this is what i have been told by an employee at Radway so dont quote me) The boxed ammo is produced to a hgher spec so if you get the chance of buying some 03 onwards get it!!!! Early RG from early 80s had all kinds of problems 2 very commen ones i came across when using the SA80 was primers inserted back to front and primers blowing out. Other problem came from the SA80 itself but i wont go into that All in all i will use it till the day i die we pay £15.00 per 100 for this and have no problem getting it we cant reload for that !!!!! |
Based on February 18, 2007 exhange rate, £15.00 converts to $29.25. I greatly enjoy Radway Green ammunition. For me, it groups tighter then U.S. M855 and M193. It appears that it has dried up over here in the Colonies though. You got screwed with the firearm laws. Of course, the laws have no effect on criminals or the IRA. |

| I bought a total of four cans from AIM of the RORG in various early 90s headstamps. Been using them thru my Bushy 16 and 20-inch 1/9 barrels and my Colt 1/7 ARs and they all seem to eat them like candy. Out of 500-rounds fired from the four boxes, I have had maybe 3-to-4 rounds that didn't cycle the bolt carrier all the way back to feed the next round, but they eventually all went "boom". My non-scientific observation is that this SS109 Euro ammo is probably loaded to slightly less pressure than comparable M855 USA ammo, which might explain the occasional FTF. I would buy more if available, especially at the formerly bargain $139/720 prices. |

Ok, first off I'm an AR newb. First AR, new rifle, blah blah. Using my Stag 16", 1:9 twist, i'm getting terrible groups with this Radway (IMO). At 100yds its been making about 3-4" groups! Compared to Federal AE 55gr which is grouping at about 1-1.5" or so. Same rest, same range. The barrel only has about 120 rounds through it, but I didnt suspect there would be this great of a difference in the ammo at that range. Do you think ill see things tighten up or is this what I should expect? |

I've fired about 1200 rounds through two Colt 6721's and it functions well and groups at about 2.5-3 inches. |
| I picked up 2 cans last year from Wideners, and all and all have been fairly happy with it. Bushy 16 HBAR w/A2 stock, 3x9 ont the flat top. Groups were fair, 1.5" average at 100 yards. Toward the end of the second can, I had a few feed problems with dirty brass, but a quick polish and issues gone. |
| Bought one can a few months back. Finally got to shoot some of it the other day. Ran about 10 mags through my Bushy M4gery without any issues. Was at the local gun store yesterday and saw another can at $174.95 and picked it up as it was the lowest price I have seen in months! Good Stuff! |
| RORG 92 headstamp. 150 rounds through an Armalite A4 16" carbine with zero problems. Less than 30 rounds through a Rock River 20" rifle with a few short strokes (casing ejected but bolt did not travel rearward enough to strip a new round), also failed to lock bolt back on last round. Overall VERY happy with this ammo and would recommend to owners of carbines only, rifles seem to be much more sensitive to the pressure curve generated by the powder. I voted with the minor problems option due to the experience with the rifle. |
