Colt Sporter Match H-BAR, born around '91. KAC RAS TA01 Smith Vortex 20" barrelled rifles are kind of out of vogue right now (not to mention carry handles), particularly those with heavy barrels. Have since wanted to just go all out and configure it sorta like the Colt SAW. To that end, picked up a C-Mag yesterday. Perhaps will get a Bobro bipod or some such for it, also. |
I never get tired of looking at that gun!! Its so clean and simple. what is that light? Is it easy to activate with the hand on the forearm?

Did you cut the barrel down on that (mm carbine or what? that is nice.. A friend just got one and we love plinking with it. please .....Deatails!!!

I did. I got my paperwork back about 4 months ago and a machinist friend of mine cut the barrel down all the way to the front post and recrowned it. It may get it the way of a future suppressor, but I love how it looks. When I get my 9mm can in the future, I'll have to just have to cut off the bayo lug. It works great and I'd say right now it is my favorite AR! I still can't wait to get the 6920 though! I have a comp2 and LMT rear site just waiting for it!! |

I thought about adding the flat top, but I really don't like the mis matching color of the upper/lower. I also ended up putting some "newer" stuff on like a CTR stock, M4 handguards and a Miad and I ended up just putting it back to stock. I just love the classic look so I doubt I'll ever go with anything but its current set up. I have shot at about 80 yrds with awesome results (hit the metal every single time), but I've never tried on anything that far away. It is a flawless gun and a "must have" for any Colt fan IMO. I may end up getting another 5" tros upper for it some day with the can, but I really like it the way it is now. By the way I love your 6920!! I really wanted to do the ACOG thing on mine, but funds only allowed for the comp2 and LMT rear site. I'll get the ACOG someday, because the Colt is going to be my go to gun. Man, I wish I had 2 6920s like you!! I'm way jealous! |
thanks man. I got them set up the way I like them.. The ACOG is so worth it. I have 2 of them one on that M4 and one on my A4 (MT6700) I love them. they are pricey but worth it. Bachmans gun in TX has the ACOG TAO1NSN for 769.00 thats as cheap as I have seen.. here are a few more of some of my colts. since this is a pic thread  2 6920s a MT6601 a R6400 a MT6700 |

Wow that really is a great deal on that ACOG! I might just have to spend a bit more cash on one. Dang, I wish I had the Colt family you do! My dad has one I'm trying to get him to sell to me, but I doubt I'll get that many for a while. They are only going up in price it seems. |
if it makes you feel better I would like to have the 9mm myself.. !!!! Ill try to dig up the rest of my colts for you in a sec. and show you my M16A1 upper on the colt lower. I made it for my DAD who was in the 4th ID in vietnam. he used it in Nam and loved it, one of the few I know that hates the M14 and loved the M16 . he said he fired 10s of thousands of rounds while there and cleaned it twice. and that was chust dipping it in a can of deisel and wiping it off He even preferred it over the AK which he had for awhile over there. He was up near Dakto. he tells some good stories about what it did to VC/NVA when hit. and he is not one to embellish wow I got a bit offtrack

Today I made my last pre-2008 election purchase and decided to do my part to ensure that AR-15s are "in common use" (per Heller). Here's my new Colt AR-15A2 Government Carbine (AR6520): Restricted? Not really.  My pretty pony:  1:7 twist, chrome bore, magnetic particle tested:  Handsome blue label:  This is what an AR-15 carbine should be IMHO. Light, fast-handling, and simple. YMMV. I'm going to keep it KISS, maybe add a red dot or one of the Hakko CH scopes I have, maybe and IDF sling and handguard wrap. BTW, for those who think that Colt doesn't care at all about the civilian market, they included an NRA brochure and application in the box. |

Some of my ponies outside the stable:   The A4 clone is my newest addition, using an older Colt (C AF) marked MT6700 upper without T markings, and a Colt Sporter barrel without a bayonet lug on an R6601 Sporter MATCH HBAR preban lower.    LE6920 lower with RO920 upper    LE6520 lower with Colt A2 upper, the barrel is a CMMG 14.7" M4 barrel, though, so she's only part Pony. I'm still trying to decide whether to just replace the barrel with a 727 barrel, or swap the whole thing for a 727 or 723 upper. 653 clone upper with all Colt parts (other than the SDI extended A2) and SP 1 stock on PWA A-1 style lower.  ]MT6400C lower with RO920 upper  I love my ponies! ~Augee |
