Just got mine out today to shoot and am loving it.
M6A2 with 14.5 inch barrel with the FH pinned & welded (factory). It is sporting a chopped TD vert grip (got some LaRue goodness inbound!) I have an ACOG on my other (DI) carbine, and REALLY love that optic. I haven't shot the M2 since my Army days (2003!) and even with the PoBoy, its not nearly as nice as the ACOG... A great weapon, the recoil was extremely minimal (like 7.5 pounds out of a regular AR is beastly though!)

Been lurking awhile trying to soak up as much info as I can about the black rifle.
I picked up an LWRC M6A1 this last weekend. 16" bbl.... its AWESOME!.  I've put ~200 rounds through it with no issues. WOW, so sweeeet!
Want to add a front troy folding battle sight, MS2 sling, probably will replace the grip with a hogue. Not too sure about optics yet, still need to look into it more. Any suggestions? You may want to check with LWRC since the FSP is used as a part for the piston base, IIRC. You basically want a M6A2 (low profile gas block and folding front site) and they more than likely will have to do that mod for you. As far as optics, what exactly are you going to use the rifle for primarily? |

Would something like the DD Low Profile Gas Block work for a replacement? Or this a no go? Trying to find what works for me, without having to buy an M6A2 upper. :) Been pondering about the Aimpoint CompM4 for my optic solution.... I need to find one local so I can get a better idea. |

I only have a bathroom scale so it isn't the most accurate. With an HK mag full of M855 it is just under 12lbs, one reading was 11.8 and the other was 11.3... While she is a pig the weight has not bothered me running drills with it. I'm in the September Magpul class and plan to run it exclusivly, so I guess we'll see what I have to say about the weight then.

Its a 12.7" A2 Carbine Length on a LWRC lower (Registered). I chose the 12.7" as a good compromise in length and velocity. So far I have been very happy with it. Its got the 1 piece carrier and ACB. Here are the other specs. Geiselle SSA - I prefer a 2 Stage, and in a fighting weapon, I dont think there is another choice. Magpul ASAP - I use the MS-2, so its a natural choice. I dont like the pelican hook on the MS-2, but that will change. Magpul BAD - Makes weapon manipulation easier, especially with the redi-mag. Magpul CTR With Decel Pad - Light and short. Decel pad helps for shooting alot. Magpul AFG - Work perfectly with my light setup. Comfortable and effective. CQD Forward Mount - Best Mount I have found for the forward mount on the MS-2 Modified Redi-Mag - I like having another mag on the weapon. Only adds a few ounces by itself and stays out of the way. BCM Gunfighter - Easier to use than a standard or combat latch. Stronger and more effective. Ambi Safety - I didnt like putting it on safey without it while shooting from support side. Troy BUIS - Came with the A2, will probably switch to MBUS when the lower profile version is available. Aimpoint T-1 on Larue 660HK - I like a lower cheek weld, and the T-1 is light and almost as fast as the M4 VLTOR Offset Light Mount - Holds the light closer to the rail on both axis. I swapped a Larue for this. JetBeam RRT-2 Light - $100 bucks, several modes, built well. Beats surefire anyday in my book. AAC SPR/M4 Flash Hider / Mount - Required for my suppressor. - Switching this for either the Brakeout or a custom soon. AAC SPR/M4 Suppressor - Reflex design, mates well with the 12.7. Tub Flatwire Spring - Longer life, was trying to increase dwell time. Not sure if it made a difference. Spikes T-2 Buffer - Same as above, was trying to decrease blowback when using the can. Not sure if it helped either. I have a few thousand rounds through it, and so far am very happy. I run nothing but Silver Bear 62g. Im not HSLD, just built it as a SHTF / Home defense / training gun. |

Added details to previous post. I am very happy with this gun. I will be making 3 changes eventually. What would those changes be? It looks just about perfect to me. I have an 14.7" MRE M6A3 on order to use with an M4-2000. I'm thinking I may eventually SBR the lower then chop down to 12.7" if I can't afford a new 12.7" factory SBR in 6.8spc down the road. |

I like them....not much experience with others though. They're a softer material than others I've used, but they're a royal pain to get on and off.
The biggest reason I got them is because they were cheap! I can't even remember where I got them from (sorry), but they do provide a decent grip if I'm not using the VFG. |

damn good looking M6A3!!!! What length barrel? need to get me a FDE AFG to replace my black one, pick up a set of FDE battery compartments for my VLTOR E-Mod stock, and get some FDE pieces for my black MIAD grip...............I couldnt wait for the new MRE color to come out, so gonna accent mine in FDE for some small parts. Hopefully be adding my own pics soon enough. |

Just got home with this around 9pm tonight.
14.7" M6A3 -Permanently Attached AAC flash hider / silencer mount -AFG, BAD, ASAP, MS2, PMags -JetBeam RRT2....will be adding a FDE Tango Down SCAR panel and tape switch to the top rail -Badger Ordinance Gen. 2 Tac latch -Aimpoint CompM4s.....will be swapping a LaRue LT659 mount for the factory piece. -AAC M4-2000 -....swapped FDE back and front pieces on MIAD grip......will be swapping the following items on -FDE VLTOR vattery compartments -FDE KNS Mod2 Gen2 pins -FDE Magpul Ladder rail covers -FDE PMAG Ranger Plates -FDE Magpul MOE trigger guard -.....possibly more Added black RTV to the charging handle tonight.....hoping it will be ready to roll by around noon. In the future I may add a magnifier in a larue mount as well.....but for now I'm gonna take her out and sight her in tomorrow and bang some steel targets! Sorry.....late night Droid phone pic.....never the greatest! ETA....from LWRC forum...... Picked this up last night from B&RGuns in Lees Summit MO (Sub-MG on here) and took it home to start swapping parts on and off..... First off, heres what was swapped on/done... -ASAP plate (at LWRC, staked) -51 tooth AAC flash hider (at LWRC, PA) -Aimpoint M4s (was removed to sight in, then turned off for shots beyond 200yds) -MaTech BUIS (came on rifle.....friggin LOVE this sight and the tiny tip on the front sight!) -MIAD (came with......swapped FDE back and front pieces on) -Badger Ord. Gen 2 latch -Black RTV sealant added to charging handle -AFG as far forward as it would go -VLTOR offset light mount with JetBeam RRT2....will be adding FDE SCAR panel and tape switch to top rail -Cammenga EZ-Mags for shooting today (easier and faster to reload than PMags) -BAD lever.......having issues with the bolt locking back with a loaded mag....only rifle out of 6 so far that does this....it IS slowly getting better tho. -MS2 sling....loving this sling more and more, but HATE the location of the two QD points on the rail, going to mount a troy QD mount base half way between them -TROY QD sling mount Will be adding these items.... -Tango Down SCAR panel with cutout for tape switch......FDE -JetBeam RM01 tape switch -Magpul Ladder rail protectors.............FDE -Magpul MOE trigger guard...............FDE -Magpul PMAG Ranger Plates............FDE -LaRue LT659 mount for M4s -KNS Gen 2 Mod 2 pins...............FDE -VLTOR battery compartments.......FDE Shooting today...........sighted in by MaTech's instructions (found on ARFCOM) at 25 yards, verified/fine tuned at 50 yards using the 200 yard mark....then verified at 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 325, 350, 375, and lastly at 396 yards (my furthest spot I could range today) Wind was roughly 12-15 mph crosswind from left to right. Hits were made at every distance with no misses within 325 yards.....and the misses at 350, 375, and 396 were hurried or pulled. NOT the rifles fault at ALL!

Uploaded with ImageShack.us ONLY COMPLAINT......Magpul BAD lever locking the bolt back on a loaded mag. It did it with every shot at first, then every 3rd to 4th shot on the next mag, then every 5 shots the next mag,.....and has been doing it less and less. I'll give it another 200 or so rounds to quit acting up, then remove the BAD lever. A shame too since because I love the BAD lever on the other rifles I've had and set up for others. Gas in the face........1/10th of what my DI guns spat at me. Still present a little, but barely noticeable until running 4-5 rounds in rapid succession. Overall VERY pleased with this rifle! :x Trying to upload video to youtube......using a Sprint Mi-Fi car does NOT seem fast enough to transfer either from my Droid or from my computer......so keep this a spot for video to be uploaded. |
