Good point! I didn’t even notice that. Looks like SOLGW it is! Only reason I went with BA barrel is because I scored a brand new one for 140 with pinned gas block. With the SOLGW being mid length, I wish I went that route. I am going with an MI 12.65 rail and the brake that comes with the can View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Anyone have any thoughts on paring a 13.7” barrel with an ADM 13.5 low light rail and NOX fh? Looks like the ADM is very similar to a URX setup. Wondering if the 13.5 will cover too much of the fh for future suppressor use. Sorry for all the questions, want to make the best decisions seeing as a pin and weld setup is relatively permanent.

View Quote Best you can do with a Keymount FH is about 1/2” difference between rail/barrel. I had a couple 10”/10.5” setups and even they required a few washers behind the muzzle device to get the can to clear the rail. |

I am going to use 13.7 BA barrel carbine gas. Will using a Vltor A5 buffer system cause any problems? It will be 100% suppressed. I also have weights to change buffer weight as needed.

So For my 13.7 build I have decided use the following:
Rosco Purebred 13.7, mid, .750 gas Sionics lo-pro gas block SOLGW NOX Keymo FH Toolcraft phosphate BCG Melonite gas tube Centurion CMR 13” MLOK B5 SOPMOD stock Milspec RE w/ Kaw Valley 4.3oz buffer Sprinco blue MBT2S trigger Couple of questions: Any glaring problems with this setup and my rail measures 13.468”, according to the guys at Dead Air, I need 0.180” +.1 to make sure all is clear for a loosened and fully seated suppressor. Any issues with adding a .280 spacer, - a thousandth or 2 for spacers to time the FH, for the pin and weld? Sorry for the wall of text. |

I am in the tail end of my 13.7 build. Sending upper to John Thomas to have him pin and weld brake and add spacer to get it to 16”. Can should be here any day.

Good looking setup. On a side note, where are y’all finding BE249F’s? I’ve only found them at Charlie’s Clones for a pretty hefty chunk of change and Hurricane-Butterfly wants 25 bucks to ship it to me. Other than the EE any ideas?

I found mine on here for $100. Got to be quick because they go fast. Found one on Armslist a while back for 50. Seller didnt know what he had...

I’ve checked all over. I can stomach the 125 for the FH, but the $20+ to ship is terrible. May have to be poor and use the JP hider if my NOX doesn’t work out.
ETA, there is a nice one in the EE for $200 if anyone needs it that much. |

Quoted: I sent my BA 13.7" to Retro Arms Works. He made a small precision spacer to get the length with a SF Warcomp to legal length and aligned properly for a suppressor. I think the spacer was about .15" thick. He matched the barrel OD perfectly and pinned and welded the Warcomp. I'm sure he could make a spacer in the thickness you require. He only had it for a day or 2. YMMV. View Quote |

The 249f is discontinued. JP Rifles bought the rights, but has yet to do anything with it.
Ballistic Advantage was the last place I knew if to have them in stock. I think it was WO that sent their stock to BA a while back. Unfortunately BA is listing them as OOS as well. |

I am sending out the barrel to get pinned and welded. Still no can. I am at 12 months. Viper PST got smashed in a freak accident, but Vortex is taking care of it. Here in about 2 weeks, I should have some pics of complete build, minus the can.

What kind of groupings are you guys getting with the 13.7" BA Hanson?

Put this upper and lower together over the last couple weeks. Upper has a Daniel Defense 16" mid length cut to 13.75 with a pin/welded BE Meyers, gas port opened to .076, done by Retro Arms. Handguard is an ALG V3X. Lower is a stripped ZEV with VLTOR A5 buffer system. I had it out yesterday and I'm very happy with the accuracy and gas system. Ejection was at 4:00 for Lake City M193 and 5:00 for Wolf 55gr steel.

The YHM brake was too short, but the AAC 51T brakeout 1.0 is not. Came out to 16.05. The rail is 12.65. It is just enough to reach the ratchet button on the can.

What's the top choice for a lighter weight barrel that's going to be used suppressed?
|

Quoted: The Ballistic Advantage Hansen profile barrels are pretty popular. That said, I don't know about the profile performance while suppressed. 0.750 gas seat but slimmer profile elsewhere. This is their blurb about the profile: What is BA Hanson? The BA Hanson Series exemplifies the quality and accuracy you have come to expect from Ballistic Advantage. BA Hanson Profile barrels feature a shoulder-less design, symmetrically limiting barrel “whip” and allowing the barrel too quickly return to its home position. This is extremely beneficial for follow up shots at a high rate of fire or full auto fire. Lightweight feel without the lightweight limitations, it is truly ideal for how an AR-15 is designed to perform. I have 2 other BA barrels, one being the 16" Hanson and that barrel shoots spectacular. Far more accurate than I am capable of.... |
