So in the RIS II family, it looks like it started with lot and date info, then switched to only date info, and eventually removed the date coding as well (at least from civie rails).
Have we ever figured out when the changes were made, or why they were made? Were these changes made on the MIL models as well, if not, is that making the newer rails simply "clones"?

They need a chain of command or they get overwhelmed in minutia. Marty has always been exceedingly nice to me, and I have no doubt he would listen and talk to me, but I think the end answer is that the RIS II rails are expensive to make and take up a lot more time and manpower than their current lineup of offerings. DD has also had almost a decade to move on and learn from their RIS II submittal. It kinda makes you wonder what the rail entries would look like if it was done again next month.....

Stick (or anyone else), do you by chance have a 12.5" upper with a Mk18 RIS II (without a reflex suppressor mount like the one on page 1)? I'm thinking about swapping mine over to my 12.5" upper and Google is only turning up a few results.
Hoping to get some better quality pics to see how it looks. |
