Ban Era Bushmaster XM15 E2S A3 - that I purchased in December 2002 with a fixed collapsible stock and mini Y comp that I have de-banned since then.  Added the new rail, stock and trigger over Christmas which replaced the Magpul MOE carbine handguard, MOE carbine stock, and BM trigger group.  Have put thousands of rounds through this carbine.
- 14.5" barrel with pinned YHM Phantom MB/Comp
- Magpul VFG FDE
- Troy 12" FSP MRF CX rail FDE
- EoTech EXPS 2-2
- Vortex 3x Magnifier on an ADM 1/3 flip mount
- ARMS 40 flip  rear sight
- Magpul  BAD lever
- ALG combat trigger
- Magpul MOE+ grip
- Magpul ASAP
- B5 SOPMOD FDE stock
- YHM QD sling swivel

I absolutely love the Surefire brake on my 14.5" midlength.  It works so damn well mitigating any and all muzzle jumpin'.  The best part - is that the Surefire 212 suppressor works equally well in mitigating any and all flash - and keeping the db's down to a reasonable level.  I use the gun a lot more without the suppressor than with it....and with standard ear protection - the gun is perceptively no more 'loud' than any other AR with ear protection.

Very nice gun btw.

thanks fellas.

The brake does shoot well and does keep the muzzle rise to a minimum.

What's the legal way to measure barrel length? I just used a tape measure on the outside and it appeared to be 15.9" to me...

Closed bolt with rod down the bore. Mark the rod where the barrel ends or the muzzle device ends if it's pinned. Pull out rod and measure that. Give yourself an extra .1-.25" in case the ATF brings their short measuring tape.

My almost-10-year-old M4 clone at a Costa Ludus Carbine Employment 01 course in the summer of 2013.

LMT upper with pinned Phantom flash hider from Bravo Company
BCM M16 BCG (before they laser engraved them)
Knight's Armament M4 RAS
LaRue cantilever mount
Aimpoint Comp ML3 2MOA
Troy BUIS
Magpul RSA sling mount
Noveske N4 lower
Noveske QD swivel end plate
Geissele SSA trigger
Magpul MOE+ grip
LMT SOPMOD

Trying out the awkward grip that Costa teaches for prone shooting.  It works great for prone but I felt uncomfortable using it in the sitting position.

Very nice carbine, and I wish I could take that class with a un-molested AR15.

Just your basic M4 clone built on a 80% lower and everything else Colt. Acog TA01NSN topped by a Trijicon mini red dot.

My choice for a muzzle device was the Vltor VC-1 because it not only brings my 14.5 barrel to a legal 16.10 but is designed to be a perfect match for a Gemtech Halo...which will be my first purchase once I move out of CA
