| I have a Maxim Defense PDX in 300 Blackout Pistol. I have one of the first models they came out with. This was the model for anyone that's familiar with this brand had the severe recall for their gas system shooting out near the hand guard. That issue long has been resolved as I sent it in and they replaced the parts. To this day I have had numerous on and off issues with different kind of ammo jamming. The latest batch was Sig Sauer 125 grain ball ammo. about every dozen rounds I would have serious jams any kind of jams you can think of, to the point where the whole gun locked up. I have some knowledge in firearms so please only let me know your opinions if you actually have solid advice. This Sig ammo has the largest bullet compared to any other brand one shot, yes I know it doesn't matter the bullet size its still in 300 blackout dimensions and fits my bullet checker. But I notice teeth marks on the actual bullet. Ive had no issues so far with Ammo Inc or Fiocchi. Had serious issues with Armscor a few years ago but again that was a manufacturer issue with the primers blowing off! Really looking for some help on this as I may get rid of this gun. unless I assemble an ar myself I've been buying from one lgs for 25 years. their policy is that is that if I bought it from them, used or new, doesn't matter when, and I have a problem, they handle it. very happy with the arrangement. I pay their markup, they take care of me. in your case, I would figure out how to send it back to the manufacturer along with ammo samples that are troublesome. let them figure it out. or sell it. plenty of pistols/sbr available, no need to keep beating yourself up at the range trying to get a turd to not stink. buddy has been very happy with his sig rattler. |

| From your post, I take it that you have had no issues with at least two kinds of ammo, but you talk about getting rid of the gun because it doesn't like the Sig ammo? Why not just use the two kinds mentioned? .300BLK is touchy from what I have seen and your pistol may be marginal in gas volume. If you try enough different ammo you will be able to ID the ones that don't work for you. OTOH, the advice you already got about returning it sounds good to me - 'cut to the chase' and let the manufacturer figure it out or replace it. |

Is the bolt locking up or is it binding in the buffer area? That makes a huge difference. Because Ive bought brand new buffer tubes that were undersized enough to be an issue. I am a machinist and was able to bring my buffer tube to work and hone to proper size. Also if your bolt is locking up you might need to do a complete tear down of your BCG and clean it. All carbon fouling, new gas rings and lubricate well. I have a colt 6920 carbine and its been a shit show since I bought it. |
