Are there any aftermarket mags for the Colt 9mm ARs that are worth a darn? Despite my vow of "No New Rifles!" I seem to have acquired one.

Oddly enough I've had good luck w/ the polymer Promags. They've run flawless for me in a couple of guns. But I got them 20 years or so ago so I don't know if they're still as good, if they're available, and you'd have to determine if they'd work in your stuff.

I have a bunch of uzi mags that were cut to fit a Colt AR. While they don't have the lock back feature after the last round, you could beat a mob of commies to death with them and they would still work. The rest of mine are MF and Colt. |

| When I started down that road (9MM AR) I bought four Metalform and four ASC 32 round mags. Only issue I had was with one of the Metalform magazines. Figured that one out, fixed it and then bought a buttload of ASC 32 round mags. Zero issues since. |

I have the blued PSA stamped metalform that run Coated Brownells stamped metalform run about 95% of the time Duramag have been solid The last round in the metalform are held firmly against the fee flips but the rim floats, also I think the coatings on the Brownells mag is putting a drag on the follower I don’t have those issues with the duramags |

I just ordered 5 more Metalform 32 rounders from CDNN 2 days ago. $30 each, only place I could find them in stock. I've settled for Duramags for $20 and had good luck. ASC looks exactly like the Duramags, besides the matte vs shiny finish, but the Duramags ran better for me. |

Metalform Both 20’s and 32’s. You will probably want 1 10 rd mag to zero. |

I have a few converted UZI mags. Wish I could have gotten a few more. Though the converted Uzi mags don’t have last round hold open I prefer them to the Colt/Meral Form mags. Uzi mags are easier to load and don’t suffer from that golden shower effect like to Colts. Colt 32 rds mags are to long. I prefer the 20 rds. Converted 25 rds Uzi mags are the best looking though. |

Like many others have already said, the metalform 20 and 32 round mags worked great for me when l had them. I also had some asc 32 round mags that performed as well too. I recently sold the last of them as l have moved on from 9mm blowback ARs. |

Another vote for MetalForm magazines. Some of mine are marked as Colt, Metalform, and PSA (pre- H&R). I will have to dig out the few Metalform magazines I bought from Brownells to see how they are marked. I do know thy have a different finish but function as well as the rest of them. PS: The Condor Triple MP5 mag pouches work well for the Metalform 32 round magazines. |
