A 10.5" at ~11,000 rounds (Page 3 of 3)

PSA 10.5 here with less than 100 rounds of all-brass through it. The upper fits a bit loose, and I expect all (purposed rounds) to be under 10 yards, but I shot steel at a bit more for safety. Just in to say it holds up great for a "truck-gun" if I ever have to travel (against my will) to the zombie-zone known as Houston. |

Fascinating. I have a similar rifle (put together as a budget “truck gun” on a pistol lower). Mine does not have more than 500 rounds through it at this point, and is pretty much intended to be run until it fails. So far it’s rock solid. I put a 3-pos FRT in it, but I mostly shoot semi. I figure that will lower the life expectancy significantly, depending on usage. I’m also not keeping any records, just doing a rough cleaning every once in a while. I need to re-zero, though. I got all swappy playing musical optics and just bore sighted it. |

Geez, engineer doing engineering things? Cool to see these kinds of threads. 11k rounds at a conservative .40 cpr = $4400. Probably took you more time on that deep analysis than it did to shoot 11k rounds. :) May be worth trying a different barrel next time, for comparison/ fun? Criterion, Hodge, DD, Geissele. For that amount of time and ammo invested, an extra couple hundred $ on a barrel is insignificant. |
