Given a full sized A2/4 rifle that is properly gassed, what is the best buffer, spring and tube option for putting a collapsible stock on it?  Vltor seems to be out of stock on many of the parts.
As this is just a semi-only rifle does it really matter too much?

Thinking some BCM parts but not sure of best buffer weight currently recommended.

For the couple rifle length uppers I've got on collapsible lowers, I just use a regular spring and an H1 buffer and have never had an issue.

The only brand I've ever not liked is Aero's buffer tube, its a little shallower than others.

I did a Canadian inspired rifle and used a Vltor A5 stock seems to work ok. I've only put @200 rounds though it so no long term reports. If I was going to do it again I would probably just use a regular carbine length set up.

Well I can’t see that Vltor has all the needed parts in stock right now for the B5.
Sent a email to BCM asking suggestions.

If I get a chance this weekend I'll put my 20" on an older carbine lower and report back.

G2g. Seems BCM has a “intermediate” length buffer tube (3/4” longer than carbine) and it uses a rifle length spring and intermediate length buffer.  Pretty much a B5 made by BCM…and in stock.
Now for the email reply advising the best buffer weight.

The military used the H6 buffers when converting 20" A2 or A4 to collapsible stocks.

This is the correct answer, H6

Resolved. Thank you all for the input. Went with the BCM MkII (vltor B5 system copy).  Way better than the musket length A2 stock. Piles brass at 4oclock in a neat pile. The whole feel has changed for the better.

H6 was only required for reliable burst/auto.  If only shooting semi, H or H2 is sufficient enough.

This. When I swapped out on my A4 I just used whatever tube, spring, and buffer I had laying around. I

Full-stocked carbines are handy.
