BUIS are really more of a fashion statement these days.  Especially since 99.99% of the people on this forum are never going to take their personal weapons into harms way.

It's a realization I came to over the summer.  After replacing the ACOG on the rifle below with a different optic I never bother to put the BUIS that I never used back on.  I never bothered with BUIS on my KISS 300blk build posted on the previous page.

I put irons on rifles with red dots just beacuse, but I don't bother pairing them with magnified scopes anymore. Never used them.

I'm like you, NV compatibility is more of a sticking point for me, but I still like a zeroed BUIS.
