YHM stopped selling them a few years ago, not sure if Windham Weaponry still sells them (they don't sell to WA anyways so it's a moot point) and Colt's through Brownells are never in stock. Other than putting in an order to Specialized Armament I can't think of any place that sells the real thing.  Real thing = phosphate finished, red Nylok patch, drain hole, and nice smooth machining. |

I’ve wondered about those… They might be worth a test order. Though I have ordered A1 stock screws and A2 sling swivel screws from them in the past and they weren’t quite correct. Their A1 stock screws were black oxide finished with no red Nylok patch and their A2 sling swivel screws were correct in every way except they didn’t have the yellow Nylok patch. |

They were not as advertised unfortunately (no red Nylok patch, black oxide finished and very rough machining + they were rusty). Sucks because I had never received anything that bad from them before. |

I've ordered parts from them for A1 rifles and they were good to deal with. Only thing that makes me a bit hesitant to order A2 stock screws from them is the picture on their site. I have the same feeling about Amherst. Many years ago, they had genuine GI parts. But, looking at their website today, a lot of their parts look like modern manufacture, and with black oxide coatings instead of parkerizing. I could be wrong; I'm just going by what I can see. |

They have a wide bevel on the bottom edge of the opening in the buttplate to accommodate the thick polymer trap door. Never really heard of "TACFIRE", but if the picture of their A2 stock screw is accurate it looks like the real thing. |
Well that's a nope on the CDNN A2 stock screws...  I just received my test order for 10 of them and they are either blued or black oxide finished with no Nylok patch. Also, the taper on the shoulder is a bit off compared to the real thing.So I'll see about sending them back for a refund.

That's too bad. I was hoping for maybe some leftover Bushmaster or Anderson goodness. Have you tried contacting some of the smaller vendors that have been around a while (Model 1 Sales, M & A Parts, etc.)? They may have some older inventory. It was either M & A Parts or Model 1 Sales that were among the first places I noticed that stoped selling parts to WA (not that I blame them). I’d need to ask them about that again. What's even more nuts is that Brownells was selling them a few years back for $11.00 each. And though they eventually lowered the price to $8.99 it's still hard to want to buy them at that price. I wish I had stocked up more than I did when YHM and Windham Weaponry were selling the real thing for less than $3.00 per screw. |

It looks picture perfect, but it was already mentioned that PSA’s picture isn’t what they are actually sending out (no Nylok patch). However, if everything is correct about them except for not having the Nylok patch, I’d go for them. Unfortunately PSA won’t even send so much as a hat to anyone in WA.
